I don't regulary watch First Take. Too much yelling, etc. for me.
Today was an exception. Very good discussion about why International players are so dominant in winning MVP awards, etc. 7 consecutive International MVP awards. They talked how Luca has the talent to win one if he plays defense and the big kid at San Antonio will probably win several MVP's.
Listening to the discussion about the difference in International and American player's was interesting.
In 1992 there were 23 International players. Today over 120.
They talked about the issue high school and college coaches face today in America. Many players are very sensitive to criticism and take criticism as comprimising their brand. Their brand is their money, etc.
They said coaching has changed, they don't feel they can coach players any more because what they say can be used against them or twisted.
Stephen A said an NBA executive sent a text and said the best devopemental coaching was in high school and it's all
changed at that level. He said youth basketball is now promoted and not enough coaching.
