This is becoming a huge topic on many message boards from the Mid-Majors. Schools have encouraged their all time best donors to contribute to NIL through their collectives and the results are not satisfying to the donors. There is not a tangible positive outcome from most donations and many times the player they spent a lot of money on simply leaves again after one year or worse, the player they spent money on, fails to contribute to the team's winning.
When their team fails to advance or fail to be selected to the NCAA tournament it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain regular NIL contributions.
I suspect when the "House" case is settled on April 7, the University themselves can make those contributions and the donors can look to more tangible areas of the athletic department to spend their money. How much the Universities are willing to spend on NIL is the $64,000 question ( or maybe I should say the 19M question).
Justin Moore, President Carson and the B.O.T. will have some big decisions to make at TU.
