I think the point of emphasis needs to be there too but they really need to watch for the Harden and LeBron James wannabe moves. Anything goes in the NBA, especially if you're one of the perceived superstars...but that should never be the case in NCAA games. The one thing that gets me is the jab step and then hop to get a 3 point shot off. It's 3 steps...it's a freaking travel every team. I noticed it in the UCF-Tulsa women's game the other day. Both teams' shooters did it all night. It got called a couple of times (the ones that looked more awkward to the refs), but it got let go a lot. The other is the improper jump stop. By the written rule (it's actually in the NCAA Rules of Competition for Basketball book), you must land 2 feet simultaneously to execute a proper jump stop and you are not allowed another step after that. 80% of the jump stops are not done within this written rule.

I will say, if every ref called the game by the written rule, games would be unwatchable like the NBA is now with all the stupid ticky tack fouls they call. It's almost as bad as diving in soccer to try to get a PK. The NCAA rulebook actually has a clause that supercedes calling every violation as written. The notion of advantage/disadvantage should be applied to every situation.

Yes, this is really an important element in any call of a violation....The place
I see the definite possibility of an uncalled advantage is when the offensive
player is dribbling East/West toward the top of the key, and makes the
sudden cut down the lane towards the hoop....many players get away with cutting to far inside the ball, and there is a definite momentary (but
definite) "carry", as they are pushing the ball forward instead of dribbling it..
The degree to which this is done, obviously determines the level of the
advantage..The ones that can do this smoothly (ala Jackson), make it much harder to defend the drive.....

I work in Human Resources. I made templates up over the summer. To make my life easier during the season so I have a process that I go through. To be honest with the AQ thread i actually told myself that I might have bit off more than I can chew. But I started it and was bound and determined to finish it. Lol

I have two word documents up for this thread. So during lunch I will update the one with the stuff for tomorrow. Then about an hour before bed I will update the sheet to the point it is then. In the morning I finish it up while eating breakfast. The only thing I have to wait on is the NET rankings but I have a spreadsheet that I run a query on that I use and I run the query each morning after the NET has updated. That is why sometimes I post late is because I am waiting on the NET to update.

during the season I have a spreadsheet that I use and it takes me 10 minutes to put everything together without my meanderings. It takes me about another 5-10 to put my meanderings together as I think about what I am going to say or what I want to publish the day before.

Bottom line is I have a process. It looks like another job lol. I enjoy it. I have learned a lot. Maybe one day I will video what I do each day. Maybe not. But sometimes my mind overloads what I am able to do within time constraints. Some things are like hell no I am not doing that. Lol. That’s why when I say on here I take suggestions. If I feel that I can do it without adding hours to my process then I will integrate it.
