TULSA, Okla. –– The Hurricane Hut in the Allen Chapman Student Union on the TU campus is the home of this year’s Philip Montgomery Radio Call-in Show. The first show airs this coming Monday night, Aug. 27, from 7-8 p.m.

Tulsa opens the season at home next Saturday, Sept. 1, against the UCA Bears with a 6:00 p.m. kick-off time.

For each show, The Hut will have wings and beverage specials. The Allen Chapman Student Union is located at 440 South Gary Avenue. Parking is available directly south and west of the Student Union.

Fans are encouraged to join the coach and enjoy great food and great talk while learning about the Tulsa football team.

Fans unable to make the show can tune in to Big Country 99.5 FM and call-in at 918.879.9999 with a question for the coach. The show can also be seen live on Facebook.com/TulsaHurricane.

The Montgomery Radio Call-in Show will air most Mondays throughout the football season. Remaining Show dates are Sept. 3, 10, 17, and 24; Oct. 8, 15, 22 and 29; and, Nov. 5, 12, 19 and 26. The final two show dates are subject to change.

This is different. Is this because the AD couldn't find a restaurant sponsor to host the show each week? Seriously, Elgin Park would be a great place to do this

Maybe they were trying to get people to come to a restaurant they own, instead of one they don't profit from.

Also, it will be way easier for Monty and Bruce to get to lol.

We want our community and the students to be more involved. Putting this in the middle of campus does two things. One provides easy access for students. Two brings fans onto campus, mixing them with students showing up.

Not having it sponsored by a restaurant that is usually somewhere most Tulsans never go and can't afford regularly is a good idea. Things are clearly being done differently, which is probably good since the way we have been doing things hasn't worked.

People who would show up at Utica Square will still make it to the Hut. Those people being on campus is a plus as well.

Tulsa is moving on this for our city campaign and looks like it is going the right way. Maybe a few wrong turns but I like the direction so far.

If the mountain won't come to Mohammed, then Mohammed must go to the mountain.

I actually think it’s a good call to have the show at The Hut. Can make it into a bigger entertainment thing since the restaurant is fully under school ownership. Not sure how much they’ll do there.

I bet turnouts are better there too.
