A closer look at 2019 Tulsa PG commit Bryce Cook

Amazing highlights. That hesitation move on the crossover is killer. Coach English will teach this young man to be a great PG.

IMO, court vision and speed are more important than height at PG. Cook has tons of both. This is a great commitment. Welcome to Tulsa, Bryce!

Great comments. He'll have no problem getting his shot off or penetrating to open up shots from the perimeter. He has a great crossover and uses the hesitation dribble to throw defenders off balance and create space. He's going to be a great little pg.

He has already figured out what it takes at that height to get up on the taller players. It doesn't look like that will be problematic, especially with the talent he is competing against in summer leagues.

IMO, the talent that young players compete with (& against) in the summer
leagues, is the primary reason that college freshmen are adapting to the college
game so much more quickly than they did in times past....The quality of play
and the quality of players in the summer leagues is much nearer college level
than regular HS ball....

Incredibly, Bryce still has two HS seasons and one more summer of league
play (next summer) to go before he starts his college career....

He plays his HS ball (So. GP) about 15 miles from here....I hope to catch a
few of his HS games this season....
