Huffy Notes of Thursday's presser ...

Schedule is difficult this year. Expects schedule to continue to be stronger in future years. Wants to continue OSU series if possible. Playing OSU and playing well gives the team the opportunity they want for respect

Heading into OSU any coach would want a QB with some game experience at the first snap. Would rather have had this game two or three games into the season to let the new guys get comfortable off the ball.

No decision on QB. More decisions to be made about who we see on the field than just that one. Looking for everyone to compete at a high level. Maturity and consistency still being evaluated and will be examined through the last week of preparation.

Refuses to compare two guys to Dane. Balance in offensive philosophy will be the priority. Teams that prioritize placing pressure on the QB to perform will be adjusted to and confident that offense can adapt to that situation. Hot hand will stay in the game.

Nothing yet on Ramadi.

Shamari has had a good fall camp. He has the opportunity to see playing time, whether he plays depends on a variety of factors. Mentally and physically he is ready to go today. (Huffy note: Judging by the enthusiasm of Coach in the answer, Brooks could be a starter, but for Brewer, but that's just my guess.).

Likes Thursday because it highlights both teams on a national stage. Would prefer to leave Friday to high school teams, but the reality of college football and the opportunity to play on national tv means that Friday games will continue.

Athleticism of OSU can be combated with some fundamentals and mismatch techniques to force favorable down and distance which will minimize risk of big plays. Taking out the big plays gives Tulsa a better chance.

Defense taken the steps that they have been asked to make. Physical conditioning coming in out of summer exceeds expectations.

Depth a concern at a few spots on defense. Gotta stay healthy in key areas or chances for success will go down.

Mason Rudolph: As a QB coach, he has every tool that you look for in an NFL QB.

Current OSU is more talented than 2011. 3 of 5 Olineman are back. Both DE are back. Tackles are new, but they have enough snaps to be considered experienced. Speed by the down linemen is an element with them that every team will have to account for.

OSU has an advantage over other teams in that Hill can play different roles in the backfield. That gives them lanes and creases that can be exposed either through the run or pass that you have to account for that you wouldn't have to worry about with other backs.

Pleased with ability of TU"s ability to recognize new situations and adjust.

In short, nothing new to see here.
