🏈 Recruiting 2025 Tulsa Football Recruiting Summary -- Articles, visits, offers, etc.

Owasso (OK) defensive back Eric Harris has been on the Tulsa campus several times and began developing a relationship with TU assistant Dominique Franks during a Tulsa summer camp in July 2023. Harris was recently back at TU to watch a spring practice.

2025 quarterback Austin Carlisle of Missouri City (TX) Ridge Point has been making waves on the camp circuit this spring. He picked up an offer from Tulsa back in January and then traveled to the TU campus to watch spring practice earlier this month.

2025 Dallas (TX) Lake Highlands safety Ayden Webb has seen his recruitment heat up over the past two months. Tulsa was one of the first programs to extend an offer, and Webb was on the TU campus last month to watch spring practice.

Tulsa extended a scholarship offer to Mansfield (TX) Summit defensive end Travis Buhake back in January, and he’s racked up several more offers since then. The 2025 prospect attended a junior day at TU last month and came away impressed.

Sherman (TX) athlete Kane Bowen plays both running back and linebacker, and he’s garnered recruiting interest from Tulsa and others. TU coaches offered the 6-foot-2 and 220-pounder back in December, and Bowen attended a Tulsa junior day in March.

3-star Duncanville (TX) offensive lineman Desean Bryant Jr. committed to Baylor in August of 2023, but after checking out a number of other programs – including Tulsa – he decommitted from the Bears in early April.

The 6-foot-4 and 250-pounder was in Tulsa in March for a junior day, and he was able to watch spring practice.

Tulsa hosted a round of official football visitors from the 2025 class this weekend. The Hurricane is looking to notch its first few commitments in this recruiting cycle, and TU is heavily involved with numerous highly-ranked and highly-recruited prospects.

This weekend's visitors include two players on the offensive side of the ball, as well as two defensive backs.

Kevin Wilson and his assistant coaches have made a habit of beating out Power Five schools for talented prospects in the past two recruiting cycles. Another example is defensive back Draden Fullbright, who committed to Tulsa this past weekend.

Tulsa is hosting another round of official football visitors from the 2025 class this weekend, and it is a lengthy list. The Hurricane has already notched its first few commitments in this recruiting cycle, and TU is looking to build on that momentum.

Tulsa coaches continue to put together a very strong 2025 football recruiting class. Arlington (TX) Bowie offensive lineman Ian Mayes committed to the Hurricane on Sunday after an official visit, and he made the official announcement on Wednesday.

After playing mostly at safety during his high school career, Banks Bowen switched to quarterback as a junior at Lawrence (KS) High School. He showed off his athleticism as a dual-threat signal-caller, and quickly began racking up scholarship offers.

6-foot-1 and 230-pound linebacker Sean DaVault from Sachse (TX) made an official visit to Tulsa over the weekend of June 14. After taking in the TU campus, he came away impressed.

The Tulsa Football program was extremely busy in June, welcoming incoming freshmen, holding prospect camps and hosting approximately 25 recruits from the 2025 class for official visits. The Hurricane picked up its first 8 commitments and should get several more over the July 4th holiday.

The following is an update on 14 recruiting targets that have been top Tulsa targets but are yet to officially announce their college decision. Expect several more commitments soon...

After racking up 10 scholarship offers, 6-foot-4 and 220-pound tight end Jackson Shockley ultimately decided that Tulsa was his best fit at the next level. The Denton (TX) Guyer product gave Hurricane coaches a verbal commitment on June 23 and announced his decision over the July 4 holiday.

At 6-foot-4 and 305-pounds, Javion Antai, is an imposing figure on the offensive line, but he’s also been a big name in recruiting circles, picking up scholarship offers from Oklahoma State, TCU, Kansas State, Cal, North Texas, UTEP and Tulsa.

In the end, the 3-star Jenks (OK) lineman chose the Golden Hurricane after his official visit on the weekend of June 21, marking another big get for TU -- both in size and impact.

The recruiting process began early for Putnam City (OK) linebacker and edge rusher Brayden Knox. His first scholarship offer came from Indiana in January of 2023, followed by offers from Tulsa, North Texas, Nevada, Kent State, Arkansas State, Army, Dartmouth and others.

With his senior season approaching, the 6-foot-3 and 230-pounder took official visits to Kent State on June 7 and Tulsa on June 21, ultimately deciding to become a Golden Hurricane.

Despite racking up 13 scholarship offers, The Woodlands (TX) wide receiver Shane Walker still seems like a hidden gem. He didn’t put up huge numbers as a junior due to playing with two broken fingers, but he’s an electric playmaker with big-play potential every time he touches the ball. It’s easy to see why he picked up offers from Tulsa, San Diego State, Texas State, North Texas, Louisiana Tech, Arkansas State and several others.

In the end, Walker committed to Tulsa after an official visit in late June.

3-star running back Chase Garnett has been a high-priority recruiting target for Tulsa, and he plans to announce his college choice on July 12 at 5 pm. The Argyle (TX) Liberty Christian product says that Tulsa remains in his top five after a round of official visits in June.

Tulsa Football added another highly-recruited prospect to its 2025 commitment list this week. Bryan (TX) Rudder athlete Jaquise Martin chose TU on Wednesday over offers from Nebraska, Texas Tech, New Mexico, UTEP, Texas State, Arkansas State and others. The 6-foot, 190-pounder visited the Tulsa campus in March for spring practice and again in June, developing a strong bond with TU receivers coach Ryan Switzer.

Tulsa is hosting a round of official football visitors from the 2025 class this weekend, as TU hosts Army. The Hurricane currently has 16 commitments in this recruiting cycle, and Tulsa is still heavily involved with numerous other highly-recruited prospects.

6-foot-7 and 300-pound offensive lineman Maddox Huber picked up an offer from Tulsa in August and took an official visit to TU on the weekend of October 4. Afterward, he had plenty of good things to say about the Golden Hurricane.

The month of October was a busy one for Tulsa football coaches, as they extended several new scholarship offers in the 2025, 2026 and 2027 recruiting classes. The 2025 recruiting cycle has an important signing period that is fast approaching, as TU looks to fill out its recruiting class.

Jenks (OK) linebacker Sam Stone and former Jenks defensive end Hudson Ball both committed to Tulsa just before Thanksgiving. Despite TU firing head coach Kevin Wilson on Sunday, the pair of best friends still decided to pick the Golden Hurricane. Stone said the coaching change didn’t affect his choice.

Despite being in the midst of a coaching search, Tulsa football still signed 14 student-athletes on the first day of the early signing period that runs through December 6. There were no real surprises, as all of the signatures came from high-school prospects that had already committed to the Golden Hurricane.
