So much for being the first coaching staff to offer him, Nic Codie has pick up multiple offers from elitist programs and seems to have set a number of official visits.
After making a strong debut in this month's update of the national 2024 player rankings, four-star forward Nic Codie showed no signs of complacency throughout the weekend. A 6-foot-8 hybrid four-man with long arms, Codie efficiently ran the point guard position for Carrollton (Texas) Newman Smith while simultaneously fulfilling his frontcourt duties
He made accurate passes off the bounce with either hand, rarely over-penetrated, and remained active on the glass on both ends of the floor. Additionally, he was an emphatic play finisher who cleaned up putbacks and operated in the dunker spot in an aggressive fashion.
Matching up with high-major prospects in each game, Codie was all-business in each outing displaying an all-around arsenal that should serve him well down the road. He has made noteworthy strides in his game since coming onto our radar this winter and has significant momentum on his side going into the portion of the summer.
Codie has emerged as one of the premiere names in the state for his class and is a candidate to play his way into a higher ranking by the start of his senior season. He attracted coaches from Alabama, Colorado, Houston, Kansas, LSU, Oklahoma, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, and Texas A&M. The Crimson Tide threw him an offer on Friday. Additionally, Codie says he has scheduled official visits with Houston, LSU, TCU, Texas Tech, and Virginia Tech for the fall.
Another 2024 Tulsa prospect, Josiah Mosely, a 6-6 PF has been making waves as well on the early summer camp circuit.
No prospect may have helped themselves more than Josiah Moseley did this weekend. A 6-foot-6 four-man with a strong build, Moseley played each of his games with a take-no-prisoners mindset.
His breakout came on Saturday where he was loudly productive in both of his team's wins. While he finished each game with a double-double, the clear takeaway was how he made strides in asserting himself in all facets of the game.
Moseley hunted his own offense, was physical on both ends of the floor, and was a man amongst boys when opportunities presented themself. His efforts resulted in offers from Mississippi State, Texas, Texas Tech, and Virginia Tech. He also landed an invitation to the prestigious NBPA Top 100 Camp.
