While the full conference schedule hasn't been released, the AAC has released the teams each conference foe will only play once. Somehow we get UCONN at home and Temple on the road, by far the hardest pairing of only playing conference members once. SMU somehow gets USF and UCF in those slots. ECU gets Memphis and Cincinnati, while Temple gets us and Houston, probably the 2nd hardest pairing. How do we get screwed by the schedule EVERY FREAKING YEAR?!?

Ya, I was going to get angry, but this just means that SMU has a tougher schedule, because they have to play all the good teams twice. We only have to play two of the 'good' teams once. The only problem is that I think the league basement is going to be MUCH improved next season and there shouldn't be any drop off from the top. ECU might be the only 'gimme' left on anyone's schedule.

Wouldn't that arrangement be the easiest of possible schedules. Having to play two top tier conference teams only once seems to be the best possible schedule...or am I missing something?

Easy equals fewer RPI points. I keep forgetting we don't have a team full of seniors anymore though, so this may be a better deal for us. I want to keep going back to history...Temple we have obliterated at home and beaten on the road/should have won the last 2 years. UCONN-beaten at home 2X, got killed once and should have won after a poor 1st half last year. Alas, this group has no college history outside of Birt. I'm hoping this team wins 18-19 games.

They may just be young enough to not know that everyone should be better. They are all used to winning.

I guarantee there will be at least 1 moment this season against a UConn / Cincy / SMU that they just go.... jesus these guys are good.

Not playing at UCONN will save us a lot of money and another loss. I'm OK with that. Losing a Temple home game is somewhat disappointing as they draw a pretty good crowd.

It'll be against Cincinnati and it won't be because they are all that good, but because of how physical they are. You just don't run into teams like that at the HS level. UCONN and SMU are good, but they will both be beatable and our new guys can all play at that level, it's just a matter of how they react to pressure situations.
