Yanks in the UK & Europe

I interpreted it as you meaning it was a fluke. Maybe because I don't think he was intending (or expecting) to get a goal credited to his tally. It was a quality enough cross that he probably did expect an assist. It really was in a perfect place though.
It was a good corner for sure.

From the buffeting wind of hands, body parts, and hair flying around it, the breeze should have got the assist. Assist goes to, 'They Call Me the Breeze'.
The late, great J.J. Cale would be happy to know it. Although the Brit, E. Clapton, would be more likely to be pleased over his "assist".

An exciting match between 2 big dogs in Serie A just concluded and a couple Yanks had footprints all over the 4-4 tie. Both Wes McKennie & Tim Weah got starts with McKennie getting assists on Juve's 1st & 3rd and Weah getting Juve's 2nd goal. Juve goes 2 goals down in the 2nd half and McKinnie's assist starts their comeback.

Pulisic and Musah did not play this weekend as Bologna had flooding and Milan's game there was postponed.

Wow! For the 2nd game in a row, McKennie and Weah start and save a point for Juve. McKennie scores in the 1st half to tie at 1-1 with an assist from Weah. Tim Weah scores in the 2nd half to again tie it at 2-2. That's 2 assists and a goal for Wes and 2 goals and an assist for Tim in the last 2.. The Yanks go marching 2 by 2 for Juventus.

It's a full on American takeover in Serie A right now. I mean, you can argue that Pulisic is the best player in the league this year and the Juve manager is going to be under a lot of pressure to keep playing McKennie and Weah if they keep producing like that.

Pulisic had the assist on Milan's goal yesterday in their 1-0 win. He now has a goal contribution in 7 straight matches, the only player in Europe's top 5 leagues to have a streak that long this season.

Weah and McKennie both played for Juventus in their 2-0 win. Juve has moved into 3rd place in Serie A.

And in some great news, Tyler Adams came on in the 66' for Bournemouth and helped preserve a 2-1 over Manchester City. I've read some comments that Adams was the best player on the field after he came on. Huge win for Bournemouth (and Liverpool 😁).

Midweek, Matt Turner got a win for Crystal Palace making 8 saves against Aston Villa in a Carabao Cup 3rd round match.

Tyler full of energy and made several interventions to help preserve Bournemouth's victory over the previously undefeated Man. City. Pochettino has to be thrilled along with the rest of us although there's no way Adams will be match fit for those friendlies. Still, with minutes in the Cherries last 3 & more to come, he soon will be. Also, H. Wright scored for Coventry on Sat.

A question. What’s up with Forest? Last year their defense couldn’t stop anyone and they struggled to stay out of the relegation zone. I looked at the standings yesterday and they’re in third place. I know it’s really early in the season and lots will change but I don’t follow the premier league to the extent y’all do, are they good this year or have they had an easy go of it?

So this is from my son, who I just had a conversation about this very thing:

Last seasons Forest had a points deduction penalty that had them scraping to stay up in the EPL for this season. Also, they didn't go and buy 6-8 new players so their current team has had time to gel. He said Chris Wood is also playing at a level he's never played at before and that has helped them. I think going into last season they had their 2nd year of EPL $ which makes a huge difference and they bought a bunch of players, so the chemistry thing makes sense. I do like seeing them and Bournemouth playing well so far this season. My son is a huge United fan but they're struggling. He is excited to see what the new coach they hired away from Sporting CP (Portugal) can do. United is good until the money they're not and give up a bad goal, like today vs Chelsea. I really like Liverpool's position right now. Their efforts in every game have been pretty consistent and they can just generate scoring chances regardless of which front 3 they run out there.

Think he could be match fit for a sub... .

Definitely. Hopefully up to 30 mins or maybe more.
There's no rush for a full match yet. I'd be more inclined to play him with the starters in the 1st half and sub him off at halftime. You need to see what you have with the starters and the chemistry under Poch's system. Adams takes so much pressure off of CBs because he's so good defensively at stopping attacks in the MF.

As active as he's been at the last few minutes of Bournemouth's recent matches, I'd be inclined to bring him on to help preserve a 1 or 2 goal lead. If we're 2 goals down, fuggidaboutit and save him for the return leg.

Pulisic had an assist on Milan's 1st goal today vs Real Madrid, and would have had a secondary assist on their 2nd goal if soccer recognized them. He mad a brilliant pass in to Leao who turned and fired a shot in goal which was saved and another Milan player pounced on the rebound and put it in. When I was going through the major moments recap, Pulisic was assisting on the majority of Milan's shots. Some of the UCL studio guys were saying he was the best player on the field today and we're talking against a Real Madrid team with Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr. , and Luka Modric. AC Milan won 3-1 in a mild upset playing in the Bernabeu. Musah also started and played some good minutes for Milan as well.

Again, Pulisic is one of the best players in the world right now.

Malik Tillman scored for PSV in the 4-0 win over Girona.

In other news, Sargent is out until 2025 after tearing a groin that will need to be repaired surgically. Definitely will hurt Norwich City.

Musah played his best game since joining Milan. His confidence must be soaring and I imagine Pochettino is paying attention. Add 2 assists for Tillman as well as his goal. Girona was no pushover. Just sucks for Sarge.

I saw a report from a guy covering EPL who thinks Antonee Robinson may be the best LB in the league.

I'll bet some big dog in the EPL or Spain snatches him up during the winter window. His salary will go up exponentially as well as his stature.

United is rumored to want him. It wouldn't shock me to see one of the Spanish sides, top Serie A sides, or Bayern want him as well. He'd probably be a welcome addition at Spurs as well as they seem to be in a constant rotational train wreck in the back.

Tyler Adams gets his 1st start in forever for Bournemouth and looks about 90% of his old self. That is, many tackles, blocks, interventions and his trademark kerfluffle with opposing players. Goes 67 minutes. Brendan Aaronson is improving as a starter for Leeds and his trademark running amok looks to have a purpose now. His on ball skill is also improving.

Tim Weah scores Juve's first of 2 and the game winner in the Turin Derby. He's started 4 in a row & is looking very good. McKennie came off the bench late with no chance to do much. CP shoots, it's saved and a teammate puts in the rebound. I guess that's not an assist but should be. His new coach, Fonseca, may not be around much longer.

Sounds like Cardoso is a target of both Aston Villa and Tottenham for the winter transfer window. Obviously he is playing at a level that is coveted by some high level teams. Haven't seen that with USMNT really but not sure he's really had that opportunity or maybe the style isn't best suited to his strengths.

Also, it's rumored that R. Pepe is in the sights of Liverpool. Say what?? And Pulisic is wanted at West Ham. They both better stay where they're at. CP in particular at Milan and Liverpool must be out of their minds.

I can’t understand what people are seeing. If Johnny never took the field again for the national team I would be a happy camper.

I've heard Pulisic is in LFC's sights, but I agree that he should stay at Milan right now. As for Pepi, haven't heard that one and as an LFC fan, I don't see how Pepi fits in Liverpool or in Slot's system. Slot's system is not much different than what Klopp was running and it takes 3 attacking F's who will press and chase for 75-90 minutes. And I just don't see Pepi as that type of player. I can see where they want Pulisic if Salah is leaving after this season. Similar players, similar skill and speed levels. But we have seen how Pulisic fares under intense scrutiny (see Chelsea) and it wouldn't be any easier in Liverpool.

And I feel West Ham has a pipe dream of landing a player Pulisic's quality. Villa maybe but again, I don't see it. And hopefully he knows to run from any ManU offer although I think the new Portuguese manager for United has a style that would suit Pulisic but I think they need to clean house and start over but the Glazer's don't want to spend that kind of $ to overhaul the organization.

For those with CBS Sports &/or Paramount +, Sat. morning at 10:30 is CP & Musah for Milan vs. Juventus with Tim Weah & Wes McKinnie. Should be a dandy futbol match.

Here the match on CBS Sports is inter vs Verona. I’ll have to check paramount plus.

Apparently Paxton Aaronson is lighting it up in the Eredivisie as well. 4 G, 1A in his last seven games, 6 wins, 2 MOTM accolades, and his team is 2nd in the table right now. Pretty heady stuff
