TU opens as a 10.5 favorite. UTSA has had a pretty easy schedule and a couple of bad losses... overall I think they’re pretty awful.

Still looking forward to tomorrow night and hopefully we’ll continue to build on what we started against central Arkansas.

Also for you out of towners, this will be the first game available for free on espn3. Further every game from here on out will be viewable in some fashion (tv or espn3).

They are really young and not particularly big. May be the only game rest of year that we win the rebounding. Looks like they have some good freshmen.

It's still weird to think we were in the same conference as these guys for a year before the AAC move.

I watched them come back from 9 down with a minute to play against Texas State earlier this year. They're a guard-heavy team that shoots a ton of 3s with varying success. They also play mostly man defense and get quite a few steals. We'll be best served to just pound it inside to Etou imo.

They're coached by Steve Henson, the long-time assistant for Lon Kruger, who could start to get some coaching carousel buzz if he can keep this freshman class around for 4 years. They've also got the Rodriguez kid from Union, who was off to a good start, but he's out for the year with a knee injury.

I remember escaping with an overtime win on a snowy afternoon the last time we played them. Manning's last game coaching in the Don Rey, I believe.

Yep! I was there - I was gonna be pissed if we lost to freakin UTSA after I drove there in the snow and ice.

Maybe worst crowd in history of arena. And I’ve been here for every snow game.

Crowd similar to sat. Difference even less students. Total of 5 kids in student section. If we are 0-25 there still should be students.

Have to quit switching bigs onto their guards. The coaches need to tell the second unit to start fighting over screens or they're all going to lose minutes.

They took the same shot in corner their first three possessions. It was open each time. Think people have us scouted? Rollo said our defense was complex on pregame. I guess it’s complex to see how it is effective.

And UTSA hits another corner three.

And just like clockwork we switch and they hit us with another wide open jumper, then on the other end Taplin refuses to pull the trigger when his man goes under the screen. Some of the guys on our team need to learn simple ball screen mechanics. If you can shoot the 3, and your man goes under a screen that's either disrespect or a mistake. Shoot the ball!

Haith said something about this on pregame. He seems excited about putting Jefferies in every player possible. I don’t see why that’s a good thing. Sure, he can guard five positions. Our guards cannot.

Winning rebound margin 25-14 in first half.

Really disappointing to see multiple times on defense the guards lost and double teaming the ball leaving the corners open. Happened a lot on a missed TU shot.

Not having a magney type really hurts. How’s he playing for aus anyway?

Etou with 13 was our top scorer in the first half. Artison 3-3 with 4 boards.

ESPN3 is looking a lot better this season. Last year it was so choppy I stopped watching and just listened to Bruce and JR. This UTSA team can score. We need to play better defense in the second half.

I’m not going to get into foot placement and moving but if Joiner charged earlier then the UTSA player charged against Wheeler.
