Given the train wreck that was our football season this team has some cover if they dont do well at the beginning of the season. This is another year where we have to win the conference tournament to make the dance
At large talk is bat shi! stupid talk

Oh you all are so negative.
What sucks is Mr. Coley never disappeared in any game I can remember. What sucks even more is DaQuan is the closest thing we’ve had since. And I’m not sure he knows to punch that steer 24/7 like Coach Self gave my namesake the freedom to do.
We are supposed to complete with Memphis. And they go and get a top 5 recruiting class after firing Tubby, who was their Wojcik.
Agree by and large.Whether at large is dead is irrelevant. The problem isn’t will we make post season, the problem is we’re just an average team right now. If at large isn’t dead yet it will be soon unless we find a way to transform this team. Every vaguely decent team we’ve played we’ve lost to. That’s a sign of who we are. We either need someone to step up and become a star or we need to find a way to make 2+2+2 = 12.
Does this guy have a natty in his hand too?We now go live to tupatsfan's address:
Think you need to go back and read all my post. I have been very positive many times in the basketball area. I do tend to get critical, (would not call that negative) earlier than most. However, many times I turn out to just be the first . Just go back and look at my preseason post. I was the most optimistic of just about any of the regular posters. I wish I had been correct. I just find it odd when so many of you criticize a poster when being critical but have no problem when you decide to be negative. Some people are negative only when it's justified. Others are negative all the time. If you're not aware of which one you are, you probably fall in the second category.
Because they hired a local legend AAU coach basically. From what I’ve seen he really can’t coach for crap.
We all hope so!!!I think it’s a mix of guys coming off redshirt combined with mixing and matching the pieces. I think you will see us start to gel quicker and really rip off a winning streak coming up.
This is somewhat true. You can also over coach teams that have a ton of talent and that will actually drag them down. Buzz Peterson did this in 2000-2001. Wojcik, IMO, is an example of over-coaching. One of the best things I've seen in youth soccer is a coach on the sidelines telling his players he wasn't going to say anything for the next 5 minutes and they would need to figure it out. You've got to trust players and not micro-manage every aspect. I think you can see it in football as well with the play-calling. I'd love to see Monty let the QB have a series calling the play at the line and just trust what he sees. The players on the court or field have the best feel for what's actually happening. They have more of a sense of who's tired, who's doubting themselves, who's struggling to fit into the flow of the game a whole lot more than a coach can standing on the sidelines. You don't have to coach if you have 5 top 30 players. Just roll out the ball and they will go 25-5 with no coaching. Recruiting is about 70 % of the game now. The National Champions combine recruiting with great coaching.
