We may be looking at another L come Tuesday. ORU has something we don’t, shooters.
Always been that way. Who knows, we could bounce back! ray:We may be looking at another L come Tuesday. ORU has something we don’t, shooters.
I counted 4 dry spells of 3 minutes or more, that's a lot of the game. There were two longer than four minutes with one of those longer than 5I didn't get to watch, but it sounds like the shooting was bad. Haith was just talking about how this team could shoot well before or after our last game. Said the same thing last season.
Yikes. Sadly that's been a regular occurrence the last 5 years.I counted 4 dry spells of 3 minutes or more, that's a lot of the game. There were two longer than four minutes with one of those longer than 5
The performance of TU's starters is totally alarming!
UTA scores on 7 straight possessions to start the 2nd half (4 of them being 3-pointers)...what the heck is going on?
Do the still put out the thrifty nickel?Clancy needs to cut bait with all these people he inherited. Maybe we could run an ad in the Thrifty Nickel for an AD and 3 head coaches for f-ball, men's b-ball, and women's b-ball.
An ugly salt & pepper shaker set of football and basketball . It's likely going to be a long year. We'll probably improve enough to muddle our way to almost .500 during conference time.[/QUOT

Ah, yes but it’s a true story.
This UTA team is not a likely tourney team based upon their metrics. We’re just not very good. Poorly coached with very little in the way of shooting. So when we beat ORU comfortably Tuesday we can check back in. This wasn’t smart scheduling to play a likely tourney team on the road this early in the season with a new team. Chill out guys.

South Alabama was the near unanimous pick to win the Sun Belt. So unless the Sun Belt is a two bid conference or UTA beats expectations (they were picked 2nd) they are not likely to see the tourney except on TV.
That said...the are a good mid major team. Those who pay attention knew we lacked shooting and were likely below average in the back court. We will play better at home (most teams do) and I expect us to beat ORU but unless this team figures out a way to put the ball in the basket it’s going to be another disappointing season. At this point we appear to be a flawed team.
It would be nice if you actually follow the gist of my posts.(not just this one) Then you might not give it your regular knee jerk reaction to anything negative.Yea no.
I have watched a game and a half now and I see a group of players giving full effort but still several months away from being a "team". When you don't have McDonald's All American talent levels you need a practiced team to be successful. I like this group of players and I hope they can gel together over the next few months and make a late charge towards the end of the season.
This is were the reduced practice times makes it harder on the non-Power NCAA schools. The 1999 team had some new players, but they practiced with the coaches a whole lot more than is allowed now.
i agree, but I expect our chemistry and our defense to improve. We won’t shoot 20+% on the road nightly.
I had other commitments and didn't get to see the game.
I would be interested to see the line ups we had when we went scoreless for minutes at a time.
Gragg messing up the KES waiver is huge for this team right now. That's on him and Haith.
Based on the post game comments I expect a different starting lineup Tuesday. Definitely Jackson. Maybe Jones too.
TU didn’t mess up on the waiver. Please stop being ignorant.
This board is starting to sound like the football board! Are we saying both of TU’s only “money” sports need big changes to achieve the success we all want? The problems go way beyond the coaches, but that would be a good starting place. How many more years?
Shooting and rebounding are the two most important elements in basketball.
Tulsa is poor at both.
Could be a long year.
I hope I'm wrong.
GO TU!!!
