Wow somehow lil ole Tulsa beat this 'tourney team'. LolUCF is good. Very good looking team. Dawkins has it "going well" in Orlando.
Tulsa ain't close to UCF. Just getting worked hard.
The eye test says UCF is a tourney team.

Working today and didnt get to follow the game. I read through this thread and then looked at the score. So confused right now.
I just didn't see it. Our offense is an average offense and we get a little better with movement and passing. We shot 43% and missed a ton of wide open shots after some really good offensive sets. We were also smart as to when we attacked the rim, especially when Fall is in the game. I know they hold people to 34% shooting but I didn't see anything extraordinary and someone like Fall is able to erase a lot of mistakes on defensive rotations. But as much as Fall provides he also is a hindrance in other aspects of the game. You're smoking crack. UCFs offense is throw up a shot and hope the miss is on the side Fall is set up on and let him grab a rebound. They're not good on defense unless you get too close to Fall. We're just not hitting the open looks we're getting.
They're literally one of the best defenses in the country.
They average 11 rebound edge on everybody, and we kept them to 5. Yeah we suck at rebounds, didn't even let Tacko get any. Lol again.Tulsa is one bad defensive rebounding team. One of the worse I've ever seen on any level in 45 years of life...
I disagree. Korita hit some long shots early in the season and most of his shots lately have been just a half inch or so off. I think he will find it again, hopefully this season.I'm beginning to think Korita is not snakebit, he just can't shoot. The shots he puts up, even unguarded, are not near-misses, they're clunkers, bricks.
TK is improving and is becoming a valuable contributor.
Taco Fall is permanently rooted in the lane on offense. I don't understand why the refs have quit calling three-second violations in the past few years. Why have a three-second rule if you're not going to enforce it?
Korita is just snakebit. The shots he is taking are not forced or out of rhythm. The shots are just not falling for him.
He seems to shoot better when he is guarded and has less time to think. Also seems to be better shooter from out front and kind of iffy from the corner where he often plays offensively. He makes 40% of those same shots in high school. For some reason he is trying to guide them in instead of just letting it go. Definitely freshman nerves. I'm pretty sure he will come around.

I was incredibly pleased to see good minutes, maybe for the first time, from Battle
& Atson. Haith is going to have a tough decision on who goes at season's end.
That's a good thing.
When I said all the obvious reasons I guess I should have stated them. I was referring to lack of playing time and frustration by him/his dad. I was not by any means referring to his abilities. For whatever reason, some guys need a year to find their shot at this level. Woodard shot 28% from deep as a freshman. Then he came back the next year and made 39% as a sophomore.
I thought I saw him at the top of the 3-2 zone?Didn't see where anyone gave any credit to Atson for his defense today. He was usually playing someone 2-3" taller or trying to box out the same in the low zone area. Thought he did an admirable job with his role today.
Anyone who ever watched a practice during his freshman season new that Woodard was our best shooter of that generation though. Sometimes it's just about what kind of threats and spacing you have around you, and how good you are at getting to your best spots in space. For whatever reason, some guys need a year to find their shot at this level. He usually plays low on the left side (when looking from behind) in the zone. He tends to stray at times in the zone although the other day I thought he was very active. Whenever he is in the game we are almost certainly in a zone defense...so I wonder if there is a deficiency in his man to man and switching understanding. He is not afraid to battle underneath with guys who are clearly bigger than he is...There are times I really really like what Atson is able to do on the floor and then there are times when you can tell he is a FR.I thought I saw him at the top of the 3-2 zone?
Korita is a tremendous shooter in practice. Can he bring it to the game. Agree there should be optimism next year as we to the fold with our current redshirt and recruits.Same thing can be said for Korita....Brilliant shooter in practice with really a good
stroke...As I.I. said, he might be 'pushing' the ball a little in game situations....
I think we can expect to see the upside of Korita, along with Magnay, Igbanu, and
maybe even Battle and Artison next season....I think we definitely have reason for
optimism....
