TULSA, Okla. –– Senior football student-athlete Willie Wright has been selected to participate in the 2018 NCAA Career in Sports Forum, May 31-June 3, at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Career in Sports Forum, an educational forum hosted by the NCAA, brings together more than 200 student-athletes to learn and explore potential careers in sports, with the primary focus on college athletics.

Wright will enter his final season on the Tulsa football team in 2018 after already earning his bachelor's degree this past May in Communication. He has started each of the last three seasons at right tackle for the Golden Hurricane.

Wright has not only been successful on the field of play, but has impacted lives of many with his community service projects off the field. He has participated in TU Day of Service, Tulsa's Shadow a Student-Athlete Day, Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma Lift Up America program and has mentored and spoken at numerous elementary schools in the Tulsa area.

This unique, four-day forum is designed to assist student-athletes in charting their career paths, as well as provide an opportunity to network and learn from current athletics professionals. The forum provides student-athletes interactive experiences with successful individuals in the sports business and a peek into their day-to-day duties and responsibilities.

The participants also learn best practices for gaining employment and gathering a better understanding of what future expectations will be once they get a job in sports.
