Tulsa fired football coach Kevin Wilson on Sunday and appointed wide receivers coach Ryan Switzer as interim head coach for the final game of the season. The move comes just before a very important period in the college football calendar. From December 4 through December 6, prospective high school student-athletes in the 2025 class can sign with colleges. At one point, TU had 16 commitments in this recruiting cycle, but that has recently dwindled to 12.

Sources close to the administration say Tulsa AD Justin Moore is moving swiftly to find the Hurricane's next coach.

I figure he will name him next week, maybe as early as Monday. Have a feeling he was putting out feelers several days before he got fired.

Two thoughts I had when I heard Wilson was gone.
1. I think he made the decision earlier this month.
2. I will be surprised if his choice is someone most of us fans are thinking about, such as the names you mentioned.
Not that I wouldn’t mind the names you mentioned.
No matter who he picks, we need the pick to be successful.

I think it’s simple. Let’s not try to do anything fancy and let’s make the slam dunk hire of a former star player here who is an up and coming innovative offensive mind.

We should’ve done that last time by hiring Kinne over Wilson.

Let’s right the ship and hire Marion. Let’s stop playing stupid games and winning stupid prizes by trying to get creative.

This may be the most important hire that anybody at the University of Tulsa has ever made for the future of the university. Better you come back to your first choice, than making it your only choice.
