They are staying in the game despite #4 Tulane gaining the lead in the second half. We led by 8-12 first half and you guys don't have anything to say until Tulane takes the lead. You guys are jaded. This is an interesting tough game that we are down by 3 to #4.
I think we are jaded because we used to be accustomed to keeping leads but Konkol seems to have trouble in that area. I guess I was spoiled by Nolan, Tubby, and Bill
This team is totally dependent on 3 point shooting. How long has Glenn had 4 fouls? Crazy we don't take advantage of what they give us. Add to that we can't score against a zone.
That was then, we are in the middle of a decent game. I'm not saying be happy with where we are, but recognize this is an interesting game.
With absoutely no due respect I say, after all I've been through and PAID as a fan, I get to complain in game on a message board with around 20 active members...

Really bad basketball. Sikle does right thing to come over on the drive and Willis and Carringotn stand and never even attempts to switch, That is on coaching!
Screw you and your no due respect. I don't mind people complaining when we play a bad game, but this was not one of them. Two point loss at the end to #4 team in the league is not a bad game. People are just bitching cuz of the state of the program, nothing to do with the game being played.

That's fine, but you can't expect that to be changed in the last oouple of games in the season. Every game we play decent it won't be a win. I guarantee you the responses would be different if it ended up a two point nailbiter of a win, instead of a two point loss. That's just a fact. I know I'm jaded, but it doesn't keep me from enjoying last gasps of a decent game when it happens. I just hope we make the change in the off season, or Konkol can recruit better with a little more money.

I'm not saying it's impossible to find a loss entertaining, the Fresno losses in '99-'00 were entertaining games for sure. But we're way, way past that IMO. After 59 losses in 3 seasons, there's no way I'll be entertained by losing at home to a 16-13 team. No way, it could be a 9 OT thriller that we lose by 1 on a full court shot that ricochets off the rafters, doesn't matter. Maybe that makes me a bad fan or not a true BB enthusiast but the chance for losses to be fun is long, long gone for me.
32-58. That's Konkol's record here. Screw the "mulligan" for year one, he was 5-25. Who does that his first year and survives? Konkol is in over his head and we can't afford to be "stuck" with him.
We were glad to get rid of Monty, and we hired Wilson. We were glad to get rid of Haith, and we hired Konkol. TU answered the question of "how can it be worse?"
I hope Moore is the guy to turn the department around and get rid of the amateur hour prevailing at old alma mater today. It's sad that Tulsa and Tulane have essentially traded places on the athletics totem pole.

It will all be over soon. We will probably take the 10th seed. (Outside chance UTSA pulls ahead of us, and we get the 11th seed.) Hopefully we play Temple or FAU and lose in the first round, cuz if we manage to make it to the second round it's pretty much guaranteed we lose. So we've likely got 3 games in two weeks. Will probably be a 12 or 13 win affair. That's about all I can take of this season.
Is enjoyed the game except for the ending. Guys fought hard but too many missed free throws and turnovers. Tulane is just a slightly better team. Not much difference between 4th and 10th. Only Mem NT and UAB are good.

Here is the skinny of it. Today Charlotte is at East Carolina and Rice is at UTSA. Tulsa currently sits in the 10th position. Seed 12 and 13 go to Denton for round one while everyone else goes to Fort Worth. If UTSA and East Carolina win today, Tulsa just needs to win either against Temple or at Wichita State to keep from going to Denton. If Tulsa loses both games then they have a good shot of going to Denton slipping to the 12 seed. Charlotte will lock up a trip to denton with a loss today..
Couple of weeks ago I thought we had an outside chance at 5th or 6th and winning a couple of games in the tourney. Then maybe we could sneak up to 8th or 9th and win 1 game. Now we're hoping to avoid the play-in game. Pretty pathetic. 2-7 in conference down the stretch. I guess the play-in would be good bc it's probably our only hope of winning a tourney game.
