Tulane game thread

Really I am cheering for Tulane now to score 100 to maximize embarrassment. But they are milking the clock damnit.

I am actually rooting for Tulane to reach 100... why have things gone so wrong?

Maybe they've already let Frank and the team know that he is getting fired at seasons end.

They might have told the team it will be easier with the faculty/administration if they lose a bunch of games and it looks like there is no choice in the matter.

I think things are over for TU basketball... very sad day

Seriously.
NO ONE cares. It's as simple as that.
Certainly nobody in the Janet regime cared, but we don't know about the new president. We'll know more after this season. Sounds like he's taking a different approach on a lot of things than Janet so I wouldn't judge the situation yet.

I would hate to be on that Charter back home tonight.

Horne and Haith
Bruce and JR are paid by the university to pump sunshine so I don’t expect news from them
But if Haith doesn’t show up that may tell us what we hope happens
He did not show up for the interview last road game either.

I just watched the game and that was the most horrid display of defense I have ever seen form a basketball team. Passes were sloppy and circus stuff while down over 20 points. I want to vomit. We might go the remainder of the season without a win.

wichita state got their first conference win tonight

It is necessary to call it out.

How about some hot seat speculation?
I just googled the latest hot seat coaches (as of 1/26/22) and Frank wasn't mentioned....he's created a situation where not much is expected of him, and that's what he delivers.

It was probably his turn. It was Jackson’s turn at the end of last game and under the Frank Haith Basketball System ™️, players are randomly benched for no particular reason.
and randomly substituted into the game for no reason....it has never made sense. I think he just looks down the bench and picks someone....he saw in "Coaching 101" that makes you look knowledgeable.

I kind of wonder if they haven't already told him privately it is over. If they haven't, he ought to have figured it out by now anyways.

It certainly appears he has given up and stopped caring (much like the fans!). Hopefully the University is quietly spooling up a search process to try and make a quick and smooth transition when the time comes.

I do think it is classy for a university (generally speaking) to wait until the end of the season before formally dropping the axe, even if everyone knows what will happen. But that goes two ways in that the coach should still try to be the coach while still there, even if only in name. He doesn't appear to be reciprocating by at least keeping up appearances.

Leaving the court early while getting blown out and sending an assistant out for the press seems like it would give enough cover for the University to do it now if they wanted.
