Shaquille Harrison at the line .....MONEY!!Tulsa has great athletes.
We have 1-2 actual BB players.
NIT if we get some breaks in conference.
Yep it is a damned shame. Hard to overcome that.[/QUO
So just going to throw this out there don't kill me for saying this but maybe Frank Haith is not as good of a coach as we thought
Coach ? It does not not matter which style these players are running. This team is below average at the foul line and has way too many scoring droughts. They do not. Maintain or build leads and cannot win comfortably. Unless this bunch can rally and. Somehow find some pixie dust they will not even sniff the NCAA TOURNAMENT.I'm not a fan of Haith. I don't think he can coach and he has yet to prove he can make any adjustments. The four out one in motion he runs is dependent on outside shooters and we are lacking in that area.
Birt is as advertised. A high volume streaky shooter who can win and lose you games. He might develop in a year or two but the only thing he gives us now is someone who will jack it up. Not down on the kid, he's a freshman.
Haith has been successful in the past with several shooters on his teams. He has yet to recruit those to Tulsa and we are exposed.
I agree with those that feel our only chance right now is to press, go uptempo, and learn how to run motion and actually set picks.
No, these seniors are not as good as they were two years ago. He came from a SEC team, he's good.
Wait till he gets all his guys in here.
He won big with Quinn Snyder's guys. Each year he incorporated his own guys they got progressively worse.
Hmmm.. 2 questions...
Why would a good SEC coach leave the multiple bid SEC for the 2 bid AAC ( especially the smallest most academically challenged member?)
And..
Did he actually recruit and coach a Senior class into Mizzou? Considering that his in conference record declined each year, I am inclined to think that his senior class was not special.
He has a history of recruiting McDonald's all Americans as an assistant coach but other than Miami, I don't think he has stayed long enough to see them become seniors. He has 8 or 9 holes to fill. NLOI day will be interesting.
