A very small article in the DMN announced the death this past Sunday of former
TU and Dallas Cowboy star Tony Liscio after a battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease)...
In a bygone era, we had a great pipeline into Pennsylvania, and it netted us many
football players, including Tony and Steve August, among others....
Tony was very athletic....He often lined up as a tight end, and was a real threat as
a receiver....I remember seeing him playing freshmen basketball, and he was fast
enough to lead the fast break......
I last saw him maybe 10+ years ago at a TU 'smoker' here in Dallas, and he looked
great and said things couldn't be better....
My sympathies to his family and friends.....He was much too young.......
