The program took defensive play calling away from him and he just upset #5 Washington 13-7. The announcers repeatedly gave him the business over that.

He still almost found a bone headed way to lose it though. With two minutes left on the WA 35 on 3 and 3 and nearing the range of his kicker, ASU has the ball and TG decides to quick pass out to the slot. It is incomplete and the clock stops. Washington had no timeouts. If they got a first down the game is over. You would think they would rush it the way they were moving the ball. No. Not TG.

They have to go for it on 4th and 3 or give the ball back to Washington. They throw again. The ball is overthrown. He sails the ball past the intended receiver and ten yards down field into the arms of a tightend with 1 career catch. He tumbled down inside the 10. Game over.

Had the ball been incomplete Wash would have had the ball and 2 minutes to go score against a gassed ASU defense.

The highlights are worth watching.

Looks like ol Todd might just get to keep his job thanks to Phil Bennett.
