Article on 247 states Grayson will announce his commitment late this morning. It alludes to K-State, but Grayson doesn't say that specifically. He doesn't mention Tulsa at all...and he gave a verbal to TU coaches on Jan 27th.
Can't count Tulsa out until he announces, but this article doesn't make it look good. Here is an excerpt...
There's an underlying excitement in Thomas Grayson's voice as he enters the Booker T. Washington hallways this Monday morning. After a long and arduous recruiting process that's spanned nearly two years, the anticipation for today's conclusion is at a fever pitch.
"I think I'll probably commit this morning around 10 or 11," the running back told GPC. "Then I'll sign on Wednesday."
"I was actually getting pressured to sign in December," continued Grayson. "I'm glad I didn't. Other opportunities opened up for me that I would've never had."
Following an official visit to K-State over the weekend, consider the Wildcats as 'Exhibit A' among those opportunities.
"I've just been really impressed with the coaching staff," begins the 5-foot-10 prospect. "I've met a lot of coaches that blow smoke, but K-State hasn't from day one."
"They're the best I've met through this whole process."
Once committed to Nebraska and pursued by a host of high caliber programs over the last several months, it seems that type of character goes a long way for the Hornet rusher and perhaps that's why he's waited so long to find the right choice.
"More than anything, I just wanted (K-State) to be honest with me and they have been," responded Grayson when asked what topped his check list during his official visit. "The opportunity they have at running back is big and they say it's wide open."
A talented back who put up 2,390-yards and 31 touchdowns over the past two seasons, new assistant Brian Anderson has big plans should Grayson choose the Wildcats later today.
"He's been straight forward in terms of the vision for me and what I can contribute," says the 190-pounder. "He sees me as an all around back who can be used in a lot of situations, like an Alvin Kamara."
"Coach Klieman also told me during the second home visit with him that I immediately impacted him as a leader and my presence would be good for the locker room."
Hosted by fellow Oklahoman and former high school rival Wayne Jones, Grayson also caught the bug that's been going around Manhattan these days; a virus filled with excitement.
"The players are really excited," states Grayson. "What (Klieman's) done and is going to do is awesome, and there's a real shift going on within the locker room right now."
"I think a Big 12 championship is on the way."
Will Grayson soon be a part of that quest? Heavy odds indicate to GPC that the answer is unequivocally yes.
