Third Quarter Economic Numbers….Uggg

There is scant evidence showing the states where the most restrictive pandemic measures were taken faired significantly better than those with the least restrictive measures. It is what it is.

I’m not specifically talking about lockdowns. What I’m talking about is the fact that the attitudes promoted early on in the pandemic lead us to where we are now with vaccination rates continuing preventative measures, etc… the economics relating to what we’re seeing now with employment, worker shortages, etc… have a lot to do with the attitudes instilled in a gullible portion of our population.

Some people would argue that raising the price of energy is actually the point.

“If somebody wants to build a coal-fired power plant, they can. It’s just that it will bankrupt them,” Obama said, responding to a question about his cap-and-trade plan. He later added, “Under my plan … electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.”

United States and Vermont

72% vaccinated in Vermont. That's 28% still vulnerable. Still, they have 1/3rd of the hospitalizations of the most most conservative and one of the least vaccinated states in Wyoming.

72% vaccinated and almost double the number of active cases than at anytime during the pandemic. Compare to your state of Wyoming where Covid cases are down 400% from the peak despite the low vaccination rate. Unfortunately, vaccinations don’t seem to be the answer as far as stopping the spread. Case in point the Cal football team with a 99% vaccination rate…and unable to field a team this week due to Covid infected players.

Vaccines still appear to be effective in preventing severe illness. As does being in overall good health :).

I don't care about the spread (other than mutations) if it's effectively making the disease equivalent to the common cold. The problem is ICU's and healthcare staff being overly strained by the stubborn, the stupid, and the unwilling. In Vermont Vaccinated people make up 70% of the population but only represent 36% of cases. 30% of people make up 64% of the cases. And that's including the fact that children weren't able to get the vaccine when those metrics were found a couple weeks ago.

No skin off my back though.... it's the conservatives that are tending to get the sickest. If they want to clog the hospitals so be it. I hope their relatives don't have any medical emergencies.

Luckily Oklahoma had over 90% of the elderly vaccinated so my mother had no problem getting in for surgery. I just had to deal with anti-science admins who wouldn’t let anyone visit her regardless of vaccination status. But we broke the rules anyway

I understand the frustration with hospital administrators, but I'm not sure how I feel about the 'we broke the rules anyway'. Not sure that's something you should necessarily be proud of. It's not quite the same as breaking visiting hours or something.

I still need to see more data that proves the hospitalizations we're seeing are among mainly the obese on the vaccinated side. Haven't seen that data anywhere.

Haven’t been able to find any recent numbers. However, as of early summer 80% of those hospitalized from Covid were obese per the CDC. I have no reason to believe that figure would be different with a vaccination…ie…80% of those vaccinated people who are hospitalized with Covid are obese. If you find differently please let me know.

There were plenty of unvaccinated hospital staff that went to work there every day, but I can’t go visit my mother (who is also vaccinated)? Nah. There are important parts of being a son that I’m not going to abandon because some hospital admins wanted to put on safety theater while half their staff was snorting ivermectin rather than getting vaccinated.

Most of our staff at my local hospital were already let go if they refused the vaccine. Not the same at St Francis / St John?

I have had all my vaccine shots. My wife has had all her vaccine shots. My kids and grandkids have had all their vaccine shots. My brother and his wife and my friends also.

I believe that the shots are good and everyone should get them.

I do not believe in the mandate that you must get the shots. What part of the constitution gives the president that power? Mandates are issued by dictators and tyrants.

aca had a mandate that everyone had to buy HI. Many did not comply: they were not shunned, they didnt lose their job, in fact they rewarded with free HC.

Mandates are nothing more than extortion and have no place in our Government.
Ok… so can we stop mandating government ID for voting?

It’s pretty rich for conservatives to whine about “show me your papers” when that’s literally what they’re doing when we start voting.

voter id is a law enacted by state legislatures in accordance with the constitution.
mandates are edicts placed on the population at the whim of a totalitarian. The constitution does not support a single source of government authority. checks and balances.
Please tell me how overseeing OSHA is not constitutional for the president? It’s a power created by Congress and delegated to the president. Now if the regulation itself is unconstitutional, you might argue that, but that contention is disputed and not clearly supported by any significant precedent while the opposite viewpoint is.

Like it wasn't headed that way under Trump. Trump pushed it in that direction as much as he could without getting blow back from the Republican party 🎉..

a year ago we had our own oil. now we are dependant
Prices were and are dependent in the foreseeable future. We did, do and will have our own oil & gas for the foreseeable future.

🤣😂🤣😂🤣

just when we though it couldn't get any worse than 2020, we got 2021; inflation, firing, more covid, excessive spending, unsuccessful military withdrawal, continued trump obsession, ...
