Solar and wind generation have saved the Texas ERCOT grid the last two summers. Too bad the idiot governor is clueless, as usual. Padding the pockets of his cronies who mismanage ERCOT is the norm for him.

Even their hydroelectric projects are an ecological nightmare. One of their dams is so huge, the accumulated water has actually slowed the rotation of the Earth. Scientists still aren’t sure how or if that has changed weather and tidal patterns.
