I'm not sure I have a rooting interest, but a curiosity interest.

An SMU L leaves Tulsa in first place. A Temple L makes the conference a two-team race with SMU and sends Temple here after a loss. Probably rooting for Temple.

UConn and Memphis may be playing for the bye that only goes to the top 5. Probably rooting for UConn.

SMU Loss benefits us more than a Temple loss.

SMU Loses, they fall behind us and the game in Dallas looms as the final step. Even if we lose there, we get the 2 seed in the tournament and would not face SMU again until the Final.

If Temple loses, they are in desperation mode coming to TU on Sunday and it makes them a tougher game that could have us looking at the 3 seed if we lose to them & SMU.

I'm pulling for Temple to win, because I have more confidence in our chances of holding our home court on Sunday.

Tend to think we need SMU to win this game to put more space between us and the teams behind us.

If SMU plays like they did in Tulsa Temple doesn't stand a chance, but if SMU plays like they did against Houston in Hofheinz then Temple could win.

Will withhold judgement until after the game tonight but I have a feeling SMU played their asses off against us.

My guess is that they have the potential to be that good but I think they rarely play up to that potential.

GO TU!!!

Unlikely Memphis will shoot like this again. Sucks that Nichols is back. Hoping he would miss our game.

Eh, Nichols can have a good game, we just need to limit the supporting cast which we did quite effectively in the game here. We put so much pressure on their guards they weren't able to get the ball to Nichols in a good spot. Once we slapped Swannegan on him, Nichols wasn't as effective either.

UCONN is playing lazy right now. Lazy on D, lazy on the boards. They're down 6 but they might as well be down 20 because they just look out of it. If Memphis could shoot decently we would see the trainers in the game for Memphis by now.

Agreed. Their guard play is horrendous. If Haith is smart, we simply press them from the get go. The PG doesn't seem to be overly athletic or smart.

ctt, settle down. Memphis is not very good. The way they shot the ball last night to start the game was an absolute anomaly that any statistics professor would tell you is not a reliable indicator of future performance. The other part about that game last night is UCONN's body language...I said it earlier. Late in the game down by 9 their body language just screamed "DEAD". I know they made it close but that was more Memphis' stupidity and poor PG play.

It's fine, I respect their opinions, but the doomsday prophecy because we lost a couple of games gets a little tiring. Memphis played OK yesterday and UCONN played terrible until the last couple of minutes when it was too late. UCONN has played a lot of games like that. Memphis is not the same Memphis of 2006 or 2008...for one most of their players can read now and actually took their own tests to get into school. Then again, Memphis' biggest hindrance is Pastner...think we are all agreed on that.

I like the matchup against Memphis. Our guards should be able to create problems for Memphis backcourt and disrupt their offensive flow. Weak guard play against this TU team spells trouble for opposing teams. Remaining games in terms of difficulty:

1). SMU
2). Temple
3). Cincy
3). Memphis

I can buy that.

The matchups are good against Temple and Memphis. Cincy poses issues at the rim and in the paint, an area that we need to dominate to win.

Cummings will play against you guys this time. Him getting injured was the only reason you guys won last time. Let's see what happens tommorrow.

Temple's RPI is 28. They beat #1 RPI, KU, by 25. Win or lose today, Temple should make the NCAA tourney. We really need to win today to get a bid.

I hope be play like our backs are against the wall, because they are. If we play focused & aggressive for 40 minutes today, I think we'll win.

I see this as a tourney game. Win today and weds along with 2 tourney wins and we are in. Lose and we have to win Memphis and SMU on road along with 1 but probably 2 tourney wins

Temple wasn't very efficient with Cummings in either. No one else for Temple seemed to be a threat at all. 2nd leading scorer had 6 pts. Temple and Cincinnati have the same issues on offense. They have no flow and they have no true outside threats. They may be really athletic and play physical but we showed we can dish it too.
