The Super Bowl should be about the fans and now it has become an event to be seen at for celebrities. It has become out of reach for regular fans anymore. Would I have loved to go and see the Patriots in one of their 9 Super Bowl appearances between 2000 and 2020? Sure. Was I willing to go into debt to do that? No. People were bitching about how expensive hotel rooms were in New Orleans, charging 6-10x the normal room rates (people were also bitching about hotel rooms in Phoenix being that high for the WM Phoenix Open this past weekend).

I was able to go to an AFC Championship game in 2019 in KC to see the Patriot and Chiefs play. Luckily one of my best friends lives in KC, it's driveable, and my friend basically offered to be our Uber for the game so we didn't have to park and pay for that so we were out the ticket price. I bought them off of Stub Hub for way less than the original asking price because, if you recall, the predicted temp at gametime was like 16 degrees (it ended up being like 29 degrees at kick and we were prepared). And my wife saw it as a birthday gift for both me and my son to go.

The cost of attending any game not in town has just become cost prohibitive for most Americans. The Super Bowl has become out of reach
