I saw the report on TV sports. It was a good night for Steve and his son. It just breaks my heart to see him have to battle that terrible disease. In my mind I still see him out on the court making baskets for the Hurricane.

I was at the Union game the other night and actually spoke to Steve. Things are not going so well but he was very upbeat and excited to watch his son play. Oh without question one of the most pure shooters I have ever seen on the basketball court.

One of TU's all-time greats, wish we could recruit that kind of talent now. Besides he could shoot free throws.

I don't know much about his son, or what his son plans on doing after Union, but as I said previously, it would be neat to get his son to TU. (if he wanted to come and had the requisites)

I wonder if the GHC could reach out to some donors and maybe set up a scholarship in his name. Harris always seemed to have the genuine spirit of a Hurricane right up until the last few days.

I adopted the Rockets for the three (?) years he played there. I seem to recall Steve hitting a big shot in a playoff game. Hazy memory but stopped watching the Rockets the day after he was released.

Great memories of watching Steve at the Civic Center. Smooth as Silk every time he shot. He seamed to be humble yet a leader. Have to say he must be in Haven at this moment. I honor Steve.

I really hope they can get a highlight memorial video together for tomorrow's game. He was an incredible player for TU and a great husband and father to his family. Such a sad day!

I knew the end was near when I talked to him at the union game and what an honor it was to be able to visit with him for a few moments that evening. As I shook his hand goodbye he said to me " God bless you and thank you". Words cant describe the true gentleman we have lost I hope the university pays tribute to him tonight..one of the greatest to ever put on a University of Tulsa basketball jersey!

Sad, sad news indeed, I too hope TU players are wearing a #20 patch on their jersey's. I'm guessing since Haith had a relationship with Steve something will be done to honor him. Regardless of that relationship, you have to honor those who were represented your program with greatness on and off the court.

He schooled MJ his sophomore year in a win over UNC -- Ross and Harris (and Vanley in the middle) were stellar in that game -- one of the most graceful players I ever saw. RIP
