Debated whether to put this here or in Crossfire but decided to put it here so we can talk about Houston as part of it. What does everyone think and how do you think it will affect the way college football and basketball work, especially at places like TU?

On the other side, if the Golden Nugget expands its sports book outside of Vegas, and I've heard reports that Tilman Fertitta wants to make that happen, what does the NCAA do about the fact that not only does he own a pretty successful chain of casinos and gambling operations, but he is also a high dollar donor to the University of Houston as well as their board chair? There seems to be an extreme conflict of interest there. Would they treat it similarly as UNLV is treated in Vegas (or at least used to be where their games were not offered for sports bets within Vegas sports books). Does anyone know how the Golden Knights are treated in Vegas in that regard? Would the Raiders be treated the same?

Lawyers- since most universities own their trademarks (as well as pro sports teams) which include logos and names, could the books be leveraged to cut schools a slice as a trademark use fee. I know the NBA is leveraging for an "integrity" fee (what the hell is that supposed to be).

Thoughts? I think it will be interesting to say the least. I remember the fallout from the Boston College's point shaving and gambling scandal (and Scott LaGrand throwing a 2 game series against Alaska-Anchorage in the NCAA hockey tournament) way back in 1991-1992
