The product on the floor for the past 8ish years hasn't exactly enticed any new doners either. I think there's a lot of TU grads who were part of the Steadman era where we had some decent basketball and football that are now coming into their prime employment years and would be drawn to donate if they were actually given a reason and shown that there money wasn't being wasted.

It always seemed in those years like we just needed to get over the hump, and something really special was going to take off (kind of like we've seen at SMU, Houston, or Wichita).... it just never materialized and the graduates lost interest during this long period of suck-i-tude.

And that era was not that great either.

I think the last time Doug called me “dumb” was when I said OSU would kill TU in football last year.

He’s such a terrible poster with no objective insight that I try not to acknowledge him. I just needed to this time. Goodness gracious.

And no, TU will not prioritize basketball if it means overspending to be competitive. Any commitment will need to come from outside donors.

Here's what I don't get - if I was as completely, totally and aggressively wrong as he was, I'd pick up some humility. He was literally the wrongest person on the board. Wouldn't that make you think, "I should tone it down a little so I don't look like a complete fool and idiot again"? Not for him.

He's the guy who's like "I just have faith in myself, I keep putting them up" even though he's a career 9% shooter. He's the Tyler Behrend of posters. Tho I don't know Tyler at all and don't mean to suggest he's an A hole, I'm sure he's a lovely person, notwithstanding the fact that he's from Cincinnati.
