Ohio State Prediction thread.

We could have easily scored over 70+ on SJSU but Monty isn't like Urban.

OSWho - 33
Tulsa - 34 fg to win it!

If we find a way to win, this would be the biggest victory in school history.

You're right. We could have easily score at least 60 but we only played true offense for the first series of the 2nd half and then put it on cruise.

Ohio State 45
Tulsa 31

While I dream we can win, OSU is stacked. We need to play a perfect game. Few to no penalties against, create a couple of turnovers while not giving up any, and winning special teams. D needs to not give up any big plays and get off the field on 3rd down when it's 3rd and 5 or longer.

The last time we faced a Big 10 team on the road, the local refs called pass interference on a ball that went through the uprights. We've got an uphill battle ahead.

Luv the optimism. I say get out without major injuries and we win. Take the money and head home without major injuries. Win win.
Score more points and it is triple win!

Where I grew up (had a Buckeye tree in my backyard) - 49
Where I was born and currently reside (Oklahoma is prettier by far) - 35

You want a real answer? Ohio State could have easily scored 100+ if they wanted. Should the true freshmen that scored the last 3 touchdowns (the last of which was a pick 6) have run out of bounds? Should Ohio State have taken a knee every play starting halfway through the 3rd quarter? I mean, who needs the redshirt freshman backup QB to have any experience? It's not like JT could get hurt...

We showed zero of our explosive offense after the first drive which was 3 plays for 98 yard & a TD. It should be a much different game Saturday for you guys. BTW, our back-up QB played a lot in the second half as well.

I fully expect it to be a much tougher game. Bowling Green missed a lot of opportunities with dropped passes or missed open receivers that I expect Tulsa should/will capitalize on.

My response was more to the second half of your statement rather than the first.

I like GMon or CHarm's scores. In either event, we beat the spread IF-we protect Evans which is worrisome & improve a lot on kick-off coverage from week 1. TU Football: 1st,last,always!

I gotcha.

Admittedly, I look for OSU to force more outs on our offense compared to last week.

I think Ohio St's defense will have us kicking field goals a lot. Didn't get the feeling that Raymond/Rowdy/Brewer would have as much close up red zone success against Ohio St. Really want to throw another TD onto TU's score. It's possible, but not as likely.

Probably a realistic outlook, though they're certainly have more success than BG did as well.

As this is a prediction thread...I could see Ohio State between 45 and 56 points and Tulsa between 24 and 35 points. I'll call somewhere in between on both.

Ohio State 52
Tulsa 28

Great spot for TU here with Ohio St playing OU next week. The Buckeyes throw out a clunker at home almost every season and this is an ideal situation for such a game. TU has the type of offense which will present problems for Ohio State. While I'm not sure we can hold up in the trenches or cover their receivers I like TU to cover in a game which will be close headed into the 4th quarter.

Tulsa-Ohio State Preview Capsule

By Associated Press September 8 at 1:52 PM
Tulsa (1-0) at No. 4 Ohio State (1-0), 3:30 p.m. (ABC)

Line: Ohio State by 29.

Series Record: First meeting.

WHAT’S AT STAKE

After a blowout win over Bowling Green, Ohio State gets another chance for its many young players to work out the jitters in front of a friendly crowd before traveling to Oklahoma next week. Tulsa, an American Athletic Conference team that is full of confidence after walloping San Jose State in its opener, tries to notch one of the biggest wins in program history. It should be another day at the office for surging Ohio State.

KEY MATCHUP

Tulsa’s defense vs. Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett. Other than his one interception early in the game, Barrett looked unstoppable last week. He’s a veteran who has a deep understanding of the Buckeyes offense. Tulsa has an experienced defense that held San Jose State to 53 yards on the ground. The Golden Hurricane D forced three turnovers, including an interception for a touchdown and a fumble recovered in the end zone.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Tulsa: RB D’Angelo Brewer. He carried 22 times for 164 yards and three touchdowns against San Joe State.

Ohio State: SAF Malik Hooker. A first time starter, Hooker intercepted two Bowling Green passes last week, including running clear across the field and out-jumping a receiver for a spectacular tip and grab.

Is there any official TU tailgate tomorrow or did the alumni association decide against that?

There's an official Watch party downtown Tulsa at Mamadou's. I don't think there's official TU tailgate in Columbus through the alumni association but I believe there's a GHC tailgate.

The latest weather forecast looks like a hot & muggy start, with heavy t-storms in the 2nd half. That makes it even more important for a good start for TU.

That was such a classless post, it must be Urban's boy, Suburban Meyer, posting on here.
