Official HC Speculation Thread

Bless your heart
Thank you

I'm take your gentle parenting and keep walking across your yard.

It appears the candidates list has shrunk, some by TU's choice some by their own. Surprisingly none because of this boards deep knowledge of the program and its future. Interesting times no idea where these "professionals" are getting their info but no way its as good as the insight to a 15 year long effort to build an indoor practice facility that most high schools in the area have managed to secure in a third of the time.

My deary, your such a scamp! Don't walk in his yaaaaaard!

They secured those practice arena's with tax dollars paid by a whole city's residents, fans or not. Mostly not. What a dunce.

He gonna shop his name, and come back & say no, by taking another job. He is going to embarrass OSU as much as possible.
Hope heā€™s going to embarrass them, being that heā€™s the overwhelming reason they havenā€™t been an embarrassment for most of the last 20 years.

I donā€™t see him back in coaching next seasonā€¦

Gundy, I believe like Sabin, just canā€™t get into adjusting to what has become the Wild West with the transfers, NIL, players with their hand out and creating their own self serving brand. All this before the agents and the fact that thereā€™s still I clarity or regulation.

Yeah, prolly, but offer him 2.5 mill, a house in midtown, a nice annuity, and TOTAL EFFING CONTROL OF THE PROGRAM... and just the challenge to prove he is the coach he says he is..

Not to mention the chance to beat OSU 7 times in the future..
You'd have to be an idiot to offer Gundy total control of the program. He's not exactly what you'd call emotionally and psychologically stable.

Gundy basically has had total control of the program at OSU since Holder retired and Boone passed. Things havenā€™t gone great since

Antonio Graham to Union. Blankenship back to Owasso. Letā€™s hope he doesnā€™t bring his unemployed kid with him.
Yeah, that one shocked me. For three years people thought Dub was being set up to take over after Fredā€™s youngest graduated.

Being known for an innovative offense but then only scoring 30 points total in three games vs Jenks and Owasso may have hurt his chances.

Iā€™ve also heard that BA will hire Travis Hill from Muskogee. They need to be sure to lock up the petty cash if heā€™s around.

Stephanie Spring ... I haven't heard her name mentioned in ages. I did a Tulsa People feature on her some 300 years ago and she was all about the "straight cash, homey"
Her kid was at Eisenhower with my daughter so knew her. Was nice in that context. Was weird when she came back from jail.

And his mental block vs Jenks and lack of being able to call a 2 minute offense.
For real. I can't tell if Dub was calling plays to win the game or calling plays so Reisig's dad didn't get pissed they didn't throw the ball enough. I mean, if you're running the ball for 7 yds a carry for 6 straight plays and the other team knows it's coming and still can't stop you, why do you call a play to throw a deep out to the opposite side of the field to WRs who really couldn't separate? And if you're the QB coach as well, why the hell don't you work on the mechanics of your QB to not throw off his back foot every play? Reisig is good, strong arm, can make every throw but his bad habits bit Union in the ass, and his dad's insistence on throwing a certain number of times per game meant that ass got chewed up on certain days...behind a line that struggled to pass block.

If Reisig's ego (or his dad's ego) doesn't get in the way at BC, Bill O'Brien might be able to put Reisig in the NFL.

Anyway, I actually like the Graham hire a lot and I think the players are going to like it a lot and the Union community is going to like it a lot.

Reisig's father came across to me as a typical Jenk's dad who believe they are "special" and then
of course their special seed kid is also special . When they aren't given that "special" treatment
they bolt and run to another school . it's fitting that Jenks beat Union's ass every meaningful
game for the last three years . Justice prevailed !

Reisig was the best Oklahoma high school quarterback the last four years. The offense was all him.

OK, so that's patently not true. He was the best HS QB in OK...that's not questioned. Him being the entire offense...not true, especially last year and the year before (this year, after Waite was shot, he certainly was most of it). He's had some great RBs at Union and the OL (before this year) were actually pretty good. Grayson Tempest and Jino Boyd and Lane Wood (TE) were all better than your avg. HS WRs and created mismatches for every defense. Add to that Carrasco and teams were just not equipped to deal with Union's skill players. And it's pretty easy for a QB to throw to wide open receivers.

This season was definitely different. While the RB tandem was excellent, the WR room after Jarek Waite was injured and couldn't play anymore, was definitely limited, and in turn, brought out some of Reisig's limitations. And let's be honest, Reisig forces a lot of throws to receivers that aren't open. The losses in the playoffs the previous 2 seasons revealed this.

This year Union just wasn't very good comparative to Owasso, Jenks, and Bixby. The defense lacked speed and the DL wasn't stout enough to contain the run and it exposed the LBs lack of athleticism/speed. The OL wasn't great and not having the WR who could stretch the field, it allowed the D to play closer to the LOS and limit the underneath stuff. Against the good teams, Union simply wasn't capable of creating explosive offensive plays.

I meant this year the offense was all him.

Not sure what limitations youā€™re talking about. He was outstanding this season with subpar WRs. I mean look what he did to BA.
