What do you think of making a push for Tubby Smith as we saw today still a great coach in tough
situations after he is fired this week or next? This is a legitimate question. Do you think he could rebuild our legacy?

Would be a big risk, but I would take it over Haith

Hard to fire a guy with so many conference wins.

His non-conference and tourney record is perplexing.

Maybe he could?

The question doesn’t matter much though because we aren’t firing Haith, his buyout is too large, and I don’t see any schools come for him that he’d leave for.

I don't know if Tubby is the guy anymore, but Frank is affirmatively not the guy.

He was decent, but you don't pay this much for decent. Honestly, I'm to the point where I just don't care anymore. It's just so much of the same thing it's hard to stay pumped.

Imo, all Frank is is another version of Doug

I'm guessing if he strikes out on Bryce then we might get rid of him. At that point Tubby will be comfortably retired with 10mil+/- added to his bank account. So pretty much no, in that context.(Not a response to you, just a continuation of your thoughts.)

12-6...who cares about 12-6??? Seriously, if this is what you want, then enjoy your games with 3,000 fans and CBI berths.
Some are putting way too much stock in Magnay, he was a nice player, but not a season changer

I’d be willing to bet we would have 2-3 more wins with magnay on the roster - impact player? No. But we probably wouldn’t have an opening loss to Lamar and a couple of others.

If we were 22-10 or 23-9, we’d be on the bubble and safely in the NIT - so no magnay wouldn’t be an all conference selection, but having a true center would have made a difference for us in a handful of games.

I'd take Woj 10 out of 10 times over Frank.

i can agree with that

When you have to completely retool your schemes it becomes a big deal.

We win 4-5 more games with Magnay and had we still lost today would be debating a 7-8 seed vs an 11-12.

Had Magnay left early in the summer we’re still talking about 2-3 more 1st half of the season wins as there would’ve been time to retool.

Everybody loved 12-6 until after this loss.

Poor memory on Wojcik.
Really? You want to know the truth? We fired Woj prematurely. Had we not canned Woj, Clarkson stays, McClellan stays, Woodard comes in (Woj recruit, not Manning) and we are starting something. Listen, I'm not a huge Woj honk, but the guy gets a bum rap around here.

Nobody ever claimed that he was all conference, just that he would have made a difference in places that it counted.

I don't disagree with that and it wasn't a bad season. But you don't pay $1m+ for "not bad" seasons. IMO, Frank is a friendly guy who will never get us where we want to go.

He didn’t get a bum rap - he had 7 years to get it done and the most he could show for it was 1 NIT win.

Wait so some here are actually openly saying they want Douglas back? The same “we’re just tulsa” Doug? It’s one thing to not want Haith (that’s certainly debatable), but Doug has zero business ever stepping foot on campus again.
I agree. Not saying we want him back, just saying he was better than Frank.

Oh my God. He would have done the same thing with Mclellan and Clarkson that he did with Uzoh & Jordan. And been just the same :crap: to everybody around him that he always was. The season we all waited for, in what season 10? What a joke.

It took Mark Turgeon 7 years to get Wichita State to the NCAA's, so what's your point? Again, wouldn't want Doug back, but you people are fooling yourselves if you think he wasn't close.

IMO, you don't know what you are talking about.

Bottom line, you want to get back to winning games in the NCAAs, then you gotta move on from Frank. $1.8 million isn't a ton in CBB, but it does but you more than Frank Haith.

Dude you’re either seriously smoking something or seriously delusional. Doug was never going to be a coach who “started something”, that’s just ridiculous. This post ruins any credibility you ever might have had. Look what he’s done since he left. And he was a dickwad.

Frank is about the same as Doug it seems but at least not a dickwad. It’s hard to say tho, Doug had 7 years and Frank hasn’t. I don’t see how you could say “if only we’d given Doug year 8” and criticize Frank after 3. I don’t think Frank will get it done for us but he’s got a better chance of having an occasional good year than Doug ever would have. Doug was too much of a control freak and too stubborn to ever have a great year.

I can't take it anymore. The fans on this board are a big reason why we suck. Continue to accept mediocrity...have at it.

It always looks better 6 or 10 years down the line to the simply deluded.

Dude take a reading class. I’m not saying Frank is the answer - in fact I clearly said that I don’t think he is. I’m just objecting to your absurd statement that Doug would have gotten over the hump with just a little more time.

Tho if I had to say “who’s more likely to get to the round of 32 every 10 years” it’s clearly Frank over Doug. That’s not good enough but there’s no wamore Doug is a better coach then Frank.
