Legas named AAC Offensive Player of the Week
Tulsa quarterback Cooper Legas was named the Offensive Player of the Week by the AAC on Monday.
Do you think Legas might be the starter for the next game?
Cooper might not throw the "fast ball" like Kirk Francis, but he was on the money Saturday.Francis injured his ankle when he got hit and went out. So if the ankle is still not well, there won't even be a question.
What I have witnessed the last few games is Legas needs to start whether or not Francis is injured. Legas' mobility gives the offense a little bit extra behind that OL (sorry, our OL is just not very good at all). We don't have the WRs, with the exception of Benjamin, who find space and get open quickly, and combine that with the fact our QB is usually under heavy pressure about 2.4 seconds after the snap, and you get a lot of sacks, throw aways, or bad throws. Francis throws a nice ball when he has lots of time...but he hasn't had any time this year so his limitations are brought out to the forefront.Francis injured his ankle when he got hit and went out. So if the ankle is still not well, there won't even be a question.
Sure. But concerns with the other guy too. Hard to switch horses after a big comeback win (though we saw that with Brin in 2020).Little concerned about his 16-31 completion % and the fact there were a few dropped interceptions. Little concerned this game was more about UTSA imploding than that of a Legas coming out party.
Davis Brin versus Tulane, but he was Co-Player.Id be curious to know if anyone has ever started the game on the bench and ended up winning such honors.
