Kansas State thread

We start off playing a tough half court trap. Have them completely out of their offense. Then we decide to sit in our zone for too damn long as it allows them to get hot from outside. No mystery here

Haith has simply decided his zone defense will take the risk to give up threes...especially in the corner.

If good teams hits wide open threes, we will more than likely always lose.

If they have an off night, we could win.

Like the commentators said...K-State can’t shoot 3’s, but TU’s zone gives them a chance for wide open looks and the ability to gain confidence.

I hate zone defense as a base defense.

I love watching Joiner play. He’s an old-school dawg.

Haith said before the season started that we had the speed and the athletes to play more man defense this year. But he’s reverting back to his old patterns. Same old same old.

KSU started out 0-6 from three then made 8 of 14. We never found the range and only made 1 three in the half. That and some trouble corralling long rebounds the last 5 minutes cost us the lead.

The refs did screw up in the last few minutes. Sneed grabbed the ball and tried to bounce it off Earley but Sneed was standing out of bounds when he got the ball and it never went out of bounds after it hit Early but they gave KSU the ball.

For those without ESPN+ it’s 40-34 KSU at the half.

Think I would just go tight man defense and let them try to beat us inside. They have too much confidence in the three now for our spotty zone.

Horne must think he is still at Bid Walton.
I liked our pressure but we stopped it after we got up 13 points. ??? Ugboh and Earley have just got to be tough.

I have seen improvement by the players all season with the exception of Igbanu, who looks like he has lost all confidence in himself. I believe I've watched enough games to say that it's the scheme the coach is trying to run and not the players. You modify your scheme to maximize the output of the talent you have, the talent you recruited and knew their talent before you brought them in.

Coaching changes won't be made when the school is in financial trouble and has a weak AD. Is what it is... I root for the kids to play hard and hopefully graduate with a degree they can do something with.

On a side note, my wife got me tickets to a Bulls game in January so I'll get to wear my TU gear and yell for Shaq Harrison again.

I went to the Thunder game the other night against the Bulls. Shaq didn’t play.

I am just so tired of watching coaches who have such poor in game adjustments skills, a la Haith and Monty. Both of them break their pattern, get good results, then revert back to what they know. It’s just so frustrating.

He isn't playing much now. He was used as a "lesson in hard work on defense gets you starts" early in the year but his lack of shooting touch keeps his minutes to a minimum. Just want him to know someone in Chicago cares. Maybe we'll get noticed in the cheap seats and Stacy King will insist we are on camera for a second or two.

Only difference between Haith and Monty is that it’s rumored that it won’t cost us anything to get rid of Haith after this season.

there’s literally no reason to keep him unless we think we wouldn’t afford to pay whoever we really want to replace him... but there have to be some guys around out there that would take his level of salary or less.

You don't get to be stubborn until you have been successful for a long period of time. But then even Bear Bryant had to break down and go to the Wish Bone to keep up with the talent gap he was experiencing.

Could we talk about the game in this thread and bitch about the coaches in the other 50 bitch about the coaches threads?

Joiner with the traveling violation... it's got to be the shoes

Sure! The players are doing a great job, competing hard and diving all over the floor. We might win this one despite the coaching

Boy, we’re getting some bad calls on balls tipped out of bounds.

Officiating has been lopsided, but that is what you expect these days. Too much money involved to be fair and let Hickory win when they outplay the big city school for the championship

We’re hanging in there at 50-48 but we need to get more aggressive. They’re going to call touch fouls on us so we might as well get our money’s worth.

Woodard and Harrison would be astonished to see how soft we play.

Back and forth the last few minutes. Tied at 55 now with Jackson going to the line.

I think Rachal is frustrated with the offense, or lack there of. He is playing street ball out there tonight

Two stops and a block but two offensive rebounds gives KSU 4 tries on this possession.

Igbanu has such talent, need him to take this game over on both ends of the floor...

I’m really tired of rarely getting a foul call on a drive to the basket. Action Jackson certainly never gets one, most of our team doesn’t either.

Take the ball in for score or foul. Unless Korita is open.

Rachal was grabbed and hit by two different players on that drive without a call but the officiating has been one sided all game.
