If not Rod, then who?

there will be another one leave due to academic reasons, so we will have one more spot to fill (from what I understand).

Suspect we have 2 ships left. Hopefully senior grad transfer and hold or 2020
We are going to need ships to pack with Phipps and Thompson.

Need another big soph or frosh to replace Ugboh and Martins in one and two years. Maybe Falokun? for one.
Looking at Rachal and Jones . Both played big Division One minutes. Not sure how they will fit in with Horne. I see Hill at the PG and Joiner as a combo. Jackson and Christopolos back ups. Korita at 2-3 some.
Ugboh, Igbanu and Falokun the bigs, ...... Jones, Rachal ,and Horne at the three. Lots of competition. KES would be a combo challenge for Joiner if eligible. Maybe more man defense with this group.

I suspect Korita will still start for senior leadership, toughness, and passing. But may cede a lot of minutes to the new guys.

As a non-payboard member I’m assuming Barnes is the player who will transfer due to academic reasons but I have no clue who the other spot to fill could be.

Barnes is leaving. As I reported in Hurricane Alley last night, Peter Hewitt could possibly depart, but a definite decision has not been made yet.

There's a lot going on right now...new offers going out, etc. Bill Lowery and I will continue to add updates in Hurricane Alley.

Last year's recruiting class might go down in history as one of Tulsa's worst ever. To be fair to Haith though, this year looks lightyears better.

Let's hope so. Only time will tell. I remember about this time last year we were all marveling at Zeke Moore's pick-up game footage from You Tube. We had three bustos in one recruiting class.

You never really know about transfers. The best one we ever had was Ricky Ross back in the Nolan Richardson days. Junior Etou and Scotty Haralson were successful. Jeriah Horne has been huge. Curren Scott was a good one...really sad he is leaving.

Hope this class works out. We need some instant impact out of these guys.

Here's a note for Haith.... If you're thinking about grabbing a kid who floundered out of D1, and then didn't play for an entire year in JUCO... don't.

Another thing to remember is we were Ricky Ross’ fourth stop (Kansas, WSU, Juco). Just because someone doesn’t succeed elsewhere doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be a bust for us.

Dana Lewis was a transfer as was Brandan Kurtz and Steve Bracey. I think Ken "Grasshopper" Smith was a transfer also. TU has a long and good history of bringing in transfers, however back in the day the coaches were very selective...

Smith, Kurtz and Bracey were Juco transfers. Lewis (ORU) was the only one of those who started at another D1 school.

Didn't Shelton play some D1 before coming to TU.

Also Herm Callands, Sherman Dilliard, and Julian Hammond were all jucos.

Shep was juco. Dana Lewis played for ORU before it was a D1 school.

I think the fad of a transfer not being on a team for a year so he can have 3 years of eligibility left is not going to catch on.

Ricky Ross was a top 5 recruit in nation. He had a very good freshman year at Kansas, about 11 a game. His like will ever be seen at TU again.

Dana Lewis was a very highly recruited player out of high school. But when Oral takes his private plane to NYC to recruit him ...
