WSU and Temple love (and the seeds they received) was a good sign for Tulsa.

Compare the #s.... the only team that can bitch is St Bonnie. Monmouth and St. Mary's have no room to complain.

You missed, too. You said these kids didn't belong. So I don't know why you are posting.

I was listening to the college sports station on xm radio, and Joe Castiglione was interviewed and explained how they came to the decision on selecting Tulsa. John Thompson didn't sound to happy about it.

Lunardi missed on three...that is embarrassing for a "bracketologist". My lesson - Don't get wrapped around the bracketologist's "expert" opinions.

ESPECIALLY Lunardi's...He's ranked pretty poorly in comparison with the other bracketologists.

What did Castiglione say?

If I could call in, I would ask how Iversson got accepted to Georgetown?

I know he mentioned Tulsa had 4 top 50 wins. I think having Castiglione as chair of the committee was a plus for Tulsa.

He may have given us credit for beating OSU in Stillwater where Kansas lost.

That's in my top two reasons. The other is the win at SMU.

The #1 bracket guy historically also missed 3.

I started getting a bit nervously excited when I saw how high the seeds were for Cincy, UConn and Temple (which was thought to be out or an 11), then when I saw WSU as an 11... I said these are 9-10-11 seeds, why is TU not an 11?

I had the exact same thought at that time. But I was thinking 1) no way and 2) why is this show taking so long?

FYI
Apparently, Tulsa only had 3 wins over tourney teams this year. Per USAToday; so it must be true.

He said (and my quoting might not be exact verbatim) "you can use different matrix for each team to disqualify or put them in, it's when you use the same methods across the board that shows you Tulsa did more with scheduling and good wins vs. Bad losses to get the last bid when compared to the other teams on the bubble"

So nice to read the snub articles and TU being talked about as lucky to get in vs being snubbed as it was in so many years past!

Patrick Stevens with the reasonable take as always:

"The Golden Hurricane has boasted a sneaky good profile for a few weeks now. It wasn’t great (4-5 against the top 50, 8-8 against the top 100, 8-8 away from home), but it wasn’t riddled with holes. Plus, Tulsa won at Southern Methodist, yet another high-end victory away from home for a team on the right side of the cut line.

This was a team that belonged in the conversation (the Post’s final bracket had Tulsa as the second team just outside the field), and frankly it warranted selection more than Michigan. Conveniently, the two teams will meet Wednesday."
