How Bad is OU Football Recruiting? They’re Having to Recruit in Oklahoma

Looks like the new staff needs to stop by Jenks if they haven’t been down there already.

It's so obvious Venables ain't it. What a colossal mistake by OU. It will be felt for years. Think Gary Gibbs.

The new conference isn't the real reason for OU's decline. 6-7 in both conferences, including 6 conference losses both of those years. The SEC will make it harder to rebound. Might become as relevant for football as the Hogs.

You say that like it’s a bad thing 😂
Ou should hire Kevin Wilson as the head coach and Keith burns as an assistant

Yeah... but OU will figure out a way to screw all of college football like they did in the 80's with their lawsuit vs the NCAA over revenue..

Look for OU to be at the forefront of Venture Capital investments in College Football.. it was being talked about down here in Norman long before Trammel wrote about it..

Well, FSU was talking about VC a decade ago so I’m not sure OU was at the forefront of anything. My sense is industry approached several programs they viewed as financially vulnerable a long time ago,

As for OU and lawsuits, there should be a sign in the Case Center thanking Andy Coats and Switzer for that lawsuit.

For close to two decades you’ve enjoyed a telecast of nearly every TU game in almost all sports as a result of that lawsuit. Before that, nada. Now, you can argue that it destroyed TU’s season ticket holder base, but as a fan, I am extremely grateful to see TU sports every weekend and not just six or seven times a year when they play OU in football and Louisville in basketball.

It also led to Arkansas bolting to the SEC, the SWC imploding, the big 12 imploding, and Tulsa's slow slide to the ranks of the kid picked last for dodgeball.
Sure we get to see TU games on an internet broadcast, but, my kids HS baseball games were broadcast on the internet. That decision hurt college football and started this mess ot is in now.
