Problem with going to the "hot hand" is a talented defender can shut that down easily. We got back into it by driving to the basket from all areas of the floor.

Basketball is a controlled fury game, or used to be

Last time we were 0-4 to start conference play? Anyone know? Just curious..

This is where Frank earns his millions 21 seconds left down 2 brilliant plays will be called by Haith watch and see

I still hate replay review in all sports... slows the game down which is good for commercial breaks I think

I'll take Pritchard driving to the basket in that situation... kid was shocked he was that open

Not heartbreaking. The same old story.
It’s not win or lose that counts it’s how close you come to winning and we lead the nation in close losses thanks Frank $$$ earn that money nice $10 a ticket crowd to see that now lower the price to a can of food like we did during football games in the past when warranted.

2004-2005 we finished 11-20 and Phillips resigned on Christmas Day 2004. I think Pooh finished the season on the bench for TU. Wojcik era started after that

I have a feeling it will end up being the same result this season.

You should be excited. What I was referring to ending up the same, was Haith resigning/getting canned.

And I would never wish a good player to leave. (Pritchard) I just want a nice, new, shiny coach for his belated christmas 🎄 present 🎁.

Unlikely that haith is canned during the season. More unlikely he resigns. These close losses are just so frustrating.

If we could close out we would be 13-2 right now.

What ever else happened in this game, Griffin's rampage at the end was one of the best end-of-game
performances I have ever seen from a TU player.......

We played about as well as we can.....However, when you look at it realistically, we were out muscled,
out hustled, out drilled, and out schemed.....The game should not have been that close.....Houston
plays all out attack mode, and with their athletes, their speed, and their scheme of the all out
attack on the offensive glass, they are a hard team to beat.....Their record reinforces that .......

We have some talented, but smaller players......They used to say that basketball was a non-contact
sport....I notice they don't say that anymore.....Why? Because it is.....A couple of really competitive
"bigs" would show our team in a totally different light.....We don't have them, and under Haith's
recruiting staff, we never will.....

Solution???..............I think you know the answer!!

Seniorgolfer: You and I would have thrown a full court zone press or a run and jump on Houston tonight since they had only one scholarship guard left on the roster after Shed went down at the start. But we had that soft half court press without one steal off it. That one guard went off for about 30 points.

Griffin should have had the last shot at 4 seconds left from 30 feet on the LOGO where he would not be guarded. When he is hot like he was he can make 4 out of 5 from there.

Pick any season, we win 5 more games with Sampson as our coach with the same roster. We can’t even draw up plays to get shooters open against teams like LMU and Air Force.
I would say that’s a conservative estimate. Sampson would have this team playing defense.

Your correct… That’s a real shizzy thing to do to Pritchard, a freshman that’s starting to develop a confidence that he can play against this level of competition. In true Frank fashion, I’m sure there will be retribution for the miss. Ran out of time or I’m sure he would have sat him.

Good point.....Houston, for the short run is sort of fumble fingered.....They seem to have more
injuries than anyone in our conference.....Possibly because they play at such a fast pace.....Sampson
recruits hard, practices hard, and lays it all out there during games.....

We still do not have enough movement on offense to get consistently good shots.....We have (for us,
anyway) two really good shooters in Griffin and Horne, and Draine, who is beginning to look more the
player we thought him to be.....Haywood and Dalger have somehow disappeared again, and have
really "deadline" stats.......The "plus and minus" stats tell us how important a good PG is to our
program.....Pritchard is a real keeper!

Call it poor game situational coaching or what, but we seem to flatten out near game's end on offense.
Griffin made three long threes near the end, but it was not enough.......

We simply don't have enough muscle to keep the opponents off of our offensive boards.....We also
have not had the 'muscle' on the recruiting trail to get some "bigs" that can actually play.....

We played hard, and never gave up.....For the moment, that is all we can ask......
