Well, this season is over, so it's time to start thinking about next season. Here are some random hopes I have for next year that, together, would improve the game experience, at least from my standpoint.
1. I wish the band would go back to using an earlier arrangement of the Hurricane Fight Song, one in which the melody is recognizable. The current version is all harmony and counterpoint and no melody. It's confusing and frustrating.
2. Ditch the current pre-tipoff video, the one with tigers and lions roaring. It is embarrassingly lame.
3. Likewise, get rid of the sepia-tinted photos with the horrible brown stuff dripping off the players. Those photos make it look like our team just climbed up out of the slime.
4. Find a couple guards who can shoot from outside like Houston's No. 32 and No. 21. We haven't had a pure shooter since Hurt.
5. Get a couple of bigs who can consistently hit layups and put-backs when they are closely guarded or even fouled. We haven't had one of those in I don't know how long.
