When Trump had to step up and do big things, he did horribly; the withdrawal from Afghanistan? He didn't even include the Afghan government in negotiations. Covid. We saw that for years. It was endless chaos. He couldn't accept it because it wasn't a made-for-TV win daily.
Now, our military isn't lethal enough. I am not even sure what that means. We don't allow sexual harassment to go enough. We don't allow for enough civilian casualties? Eddie Gallagher was treated poorly by the meanny pants jagoffs after SIX, SIX of his SEAL brothers turned him in for knifing to death a civilian boy. It's ridiculous. Ask the Russians how lethal our things are, and we don't even have our people our or all full arsenal and troops on station. This stuff is so dumb.

Will get rid of workers that are loafers to a certain extent. But it will hire in loafers to replace many of them. The important thing is it will get rid of experienced civil servants who are good at their job. That is the worst of it. There will always be loafers, but once those experienced people are gone, you lose a lot.
People assume those who work from home, even partially are loafers. It’s really not true.
Pretty simple….Biden waited far too late to evacuate civilians. We also placed far too much faith in the Afghan security forces we had been training for years. Withdrawing troops prior to having all civilian evacuations completed spelled disaster. To be fair the fault lies with the military leaders in charge and neither Biden or Trump as they have limited expertise in military operations
I took issue with them due to the precedent of legislating via EOs. I thought it was a dangerous precedent which would lead to abuse by further Administrations. Many on this board supported those EOs and ignored future implications due to….you guessed it….blind partisanship.
Turns out I was 100% correct. I’m also right on preemptive blanket pardons. Sit back and watch.

Of course you are right on all of that. It only stands to reason that will happen. Nobody said it wouldn't happen that way. You aren't laying any of the blame on the actions that brought those EO's, blanket pardon's, etc, about. It's easy to say that when it's a member of your party who brought that about through their actions.
Now we have so uncooperative of a government, that we will only be members of agreements, pacts, and organizations for 4-8 years. Par example, the WHO. China is wanting us to leave organizations like this. That allows them to fill the void even more so when we leave. They use every action like this to gain any additional amount of influence they can in the world. Keep things like this up, and suddenly you don't have the same influence you had. Just because China is gaining influence in an organization doesn't mean you pull out. It means you fight the influence they've gained.
I'm extremely fearful that we will pull out of NATO in the next four years. Trump will pull us out of any organization he feels like, regardless of how many former Republican Presidents approved of our membership. He doesn't think of long term consequences. He is not a President that thinks several moves ahead.
Agree. Unfortunately, I’m realizing we have a number of posters here who doesn’t think of long term consequences either. I know my rants on the dangers of preemptive blanket pardons are likely falling of death ears but I also know where we’re now headed. It’s a path of blatant corruption and criminal activity absent any fear of legal consequences. Good luck to us all
Well….we are certainly there now. The precedent is set for lawlessness without fear or even the thought of being punished. Members of a President’s family, friends, supporters, colleagues, Admin members are now free to break whatever laws they please with complete immunity from prosecution. I’m hoping someone takes these blanket pardons to the Supremes and they’re struck down but I’m not holding my breath as neither party has an interest in doing the same. Our ruling class became a lot more powerful yesterday. Untouchable is you please

Too bad. You don’t get a vote anymore. Me and a couple thousand of my friends are going to make sure of it next time there’s a question. Clearly our country is okay with people taking other people’s freedom away without repercussion.

A private website is not the same as a national election and you know it. PS.... look at Twitter these days.....
When the federal government is using private social media websites to censor and silence speech we have a problem as that private website is now a tool of the federal government being used to violate the civil liberties of its people. If the Trump Admin begins to censor speech on Twitter I will scream just as loud
