This was supposed to be GAME DAY!!! Sadly it is not because UCF has the COVID inside of its program. South Carolina and Ole Miss is postponed due to COVID on South Carolina.

We still have some great games on the slate for today. Baylor is at TCU this afternoon along with Georgia at Arkansas. There are a couple of Conference matchups as well.

I am still tracking Arkansas and ORU until those games become Cancelled just in case anyone was wondering.

I know there has been a lot of talk about the Q wins and Losses. Let me show you what is listed as a Q3 and Q4 for us right now if the season was over. These are the games we need to win.

Cincinnati H 106 Q3
East Carolina H 109 Q3
Memphis H 97 Q3
Northwestern St. H W 333 Q4
Oral Roberts A 173 Q3
South Fla. H 124 Q3
Temple H 174 Q4
Temple A 174 Q3
Tulane H 162 Q4
Tulane A 162 Q3
UT Arlington H W 222 Q4

You see that two of them are already wins. These games could stay in Q3 and Q4. A couple of them can move to a Q2, but only a couple.

People complain about Haith’s late game slowdown offense, but he’s got nothing on what Brian Gregory is doing with USF today

TCU not valuing the ball is leading to a blowout. if they could have won that would have really helped us.

If Houston didn’t have 9 turnovers they would be destroying Tulane. Lack of turnovers kept Tulane in this but they joined the turnover bandwagon

There originally were no games scheduled today. Then two were rescheduled for today and then one of those was rescheduled for tomorrow. The COVID season does not disappoint again. smh

It was the game Dante came out with his hair in wheatshocks. The crowd was not friendly.

Glenn had a ridiculous block at home his senior year, it was a catch up from behind one that he pinned to the back board in a intense game with the Reynolds Center rocking.

You’re right it was at home. Not sure if this is the one you’re thinking of but it’s at 1:48 of this video

First great intro video. We need to up our intro video game again. Especially if we get back to "normal" and can have crowds again.

Second yup that's it. I remember thinking damn, then out of no where the not in my house denial on raw hustle and absurd athletic ability.

I have two great what if scenarios that roll around in my head about Tulsa basketball.

1. What happens if Self let's Swanson off the chain even earlier in the UNC game? Barring that what if Shelton instead of shooting that 3 gives the ball up to Dante standing three feet from him. A player who would lead the country in 3 pt shooting percentage at one point in his career and was a damn assasin?

2. What if we put Glenn on Prince against Kentucky in that NCAA game? How deep does that team go if he even slows him down a little?

The what ifs

Also lolz at Eric Cooley snatching peoples shots out of the air like some living eraser of gravity and your offensive capabilities.

John Phillips, December 8, 2001. We won the WAC that year. Beat Marquette in the tourney and then lost to Kentucky in the round of 32
Those NCAA tourney games were a blast to be at. Marquette was loaded that year...Dwyane Wade, Travis Diener, and a PG whose name escapes me. When they were trying to win the game at the buzzer, we clamped down on Wade, the PG didn't want the ball and Diener ended up taking an almost 35 shot that clanged the rim. After the game, my wife and I went to Lacelede's Landing to eat...a couple of Kentucky fans were scared to death having to play us as they mentioned they had no one who could guard KJ. They had a couple of near 7 footers. They also had Chuck Hayes. But none of them could guard KJ. Unfortunately, we got bit by a career game from Tayshaun Prince. We also had the Antonio Reed to Marquis Ledoux half court alley oop whcih drew an audible gasp from everyone at the game. When do we get back to that part of TU basketball?

We have one game today and it is an AAC game that was originally scheduled for Saturday, then moved to Sunday and then moved again to this afternoon.

I notice the WSU win was not enough to move up and Cincy despite the loss moved up 2. The NET again proving how you play not who you play of even to a certain extent whether you win or lose is the most important thing.

Over the next couple weeks those teams with only a few games should get enough in for the biggest jumps to be cut down game to game.

It’s still just a ranking. No one below them jumped over them and no one above them dropped low enough to help them move up. Not as many games on Sunday as there is on Saturday. We moved up 1 because two team fell below us. 1 team actually jumped us in the ranking.
