ITS GAME DAY!!!!!! We have Memphis at home today and I am sure they remember what happened the last time they visited the Reynolds Center!!!!! 80-40 smoking!!!!!!

Look at Temple running up the NET like Leroy Jenkins. My god they have had some great boosts in the last couple of games. Tulane dropped hard but they are still over 200. All of the American teams are over 200 which we haven't been able to say that in previous years. That just means that the conference is more competitive. I like it!

The unfortunate thing is TCU has dropped to a Q3 for us now.

We have two games today as one of them has been postponed due to COVID on the SMU program.

I wish we could move up 26 spots by beating Tulane. Our next two games are crucial for the NET rankings though. Can't lose another home game and winning at Houston would rock the committee.

With so few OOC games this season every game we have in conference left are crucial if we are going to get in the tournament. If not then we have to win the conference championship

WSU is kind of a bad match up for us, USF too. But we are a bad match up for Houston especially with out Mills, so I like our chances. Otherwise I feel pretty good with our talent and matching up against anyone in the conference. Not that the conference isn't talented or good but I just feel like we are a top three or four team in the league and should finish there. Beating Memphis twice takes care of the team I feel is more talented than us besides Houston.

We play well and there will be a lot of Ws in the close out to the season.

Going to have to win at Houston or all the remaining road games which seem to be all the NET rankings want. But a win at Houston will turn heads everywhere. And can you imagine a 22-2 Houston team at tournament time with only losses to TU?

We can afford 2 more losses, and have a decent shot at an at large. 3 becomes iffy. Any more that that, and we look to next season. Even with 2, we'll be watching selection sunday with a little bit of unease.(That is if there is a selection sunday/tourney.)

If we do the back to back and play UCF makeup game on 2/08, I'm hoping a few of the players that aren't there yet(Williams, Ugboh, Earley, Shumate, etc) are in decent shape for that 8 day, 4 game span of USF, UCF, UCF, Tulane.

A win at Houston would be similar in effect to our win at SMU a few years ago that got us an at large.

Yes that was a great memory
I remember how disappointed I was with the first missed free throw and then shocked and elated when Zak hit the second

The recap of the NIT game vs UCLA at halftime was great. Zac Bennett made that last free throw at Pauley Pavillion to upset them.
Remember his GIANT gulp before those shots? I remember where I was (a crappy 1 bedroom apartment in South Tulsa). Late game I recall. Great win.

It would be the equivalent of the win at SMU a few years back that seemed to push us into the first four game.

Got us there by the skin of our teeth that year. To be fair, this season we don't have bad losses like we did that year. (ULAR, Oregon State, and ORU) But we also had wins over other tournament teams that season as well (Cincy, Iona, Wichita State, in addition to SMU)

what I like in the Quad ratings is the lack of a bad Q4 loss. I'm hoping Memphis can knock off Wichita in FedEx and move into a Q3. Wichita has been hot but that has mostly been at home.

Because of the top to bottom strength of the Big 12, I hope the TCU loss will move to Q2 eventually. Of course, this is all moot if TU could pull the huge upset in Houston tomorrow night. I don't expect that, but I hope the game is competitive.

unless TCU loses the rest of their games they should end as a Q2 because it was a neutral site game. They just need to move up one spot at this point to be Q2 and SC is 19 spots from being Q1.

In a couple weeks we have an open date between weekend games. Another in February. I looked and Oklahoma is the only team within two hours that hasn't played all their ooc games. Arkansas has one I think they could move to a to an exhibition like status. However Arkansas is full until the SEC tourney so we would need a postponement of ours or theirs to work out. Oklahoma plays pretty steady till the end of Feb so we could I suppose conceivably sneak them in some where after that and before conference tournaments. I doubt that's on either agenda so we likely need a postponement to even try that one.

Fitting in ORU should be relatively easy but they aren't going to be a quad 1 and need a good run to ensure a quad 2 status. Still it's another W if we handle business on the road and a game we should be able to make work. We really need to find another high quality match up like the one we lost with Arkansas so we can freshen up our ooc to match what looks like a good conference performance so far.
