Tulsa Golden Hurricane (1-5) at Arkansas Razorbacks (1-6)

College Football: Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 12:00 pm (Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium)

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane and the Arkansas Razorbacks meet in a week 8 non-conference college football matchup from Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane could use a win after 5 straight losses, including a narrow 25-24 loss to USF in their last outing. Luke Skipper has thrown for 716 yards, 4 touchdowns and 6 interceptions on 58.6% passing this season while the tandem of Shamari Brooks and Corey Taylor II have combined for 886 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns this season. Keenen Johnson leads the Hurricane with 271 receiving yards, while Justin Hobbs, Keylon Stokes and Jarion Anderson each have a team-high 19 catches this season. As a team, Tulsa is averaging 381.7 yards of total offense and 24.3 points per game this season.

The Arkansas Razorbacks will be out to snap a 6-game losing skid following a 37-33 loss to Ole Miss in their last outing. Ty Storey has thrown for 983 yards, 7 touchdowns and 5 picks this season while Rakeem Boyd leads the Hogs with 403 rushing yards. La’Michael Pettway is Arkansas’ leading receiver with 277 yards on 18 receptions with 4 touchdown grabs this season. As a team, Arkansas is averaging 375 yards of total offense and 26.1 points per game this season

Tulsa is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 road games while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games overall. Arkansas is 0-7-2 ATS in their last 9 non-conference games and 4-1-1 in their last 6 home games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 home games against a team with a losing road record.

Good luck trying to pick a side in a game between a pair of teams with a combined 2-11 SU record. You could give an edge to Tulsa for having solid numbers ATS on the road and Arkansas struggling out of SEC play, but I’m not trying to pick a winner in this one. Instead, I’m going to side with the over. Both teams have had their chances to win football games, the issue is that they can’t keep points off of the board. Arkansas had a chance to beat Ole Miss, but gave up two late touchdowns while Tulsa just let one slip away against Ole Miss. This game has the potential to be a shootout with both teams reaching the 40s, so I’m going to side with the over here.
