In years past, all home games that weren’t picked up on linear tv were broadcast on ESPN3. Does anyone know if that’s still the case? I’ll be traveling for work during a couple of the early season games and want to make sure I can watch them.

Yes all home games not on linear tv will be available on ESPN 3 per our current contract.

Linear TV?

What most people think of as "regular" tv received through broadcast or cable. CBS, ABC, ESPN, TNT, etc.

Non-linear tv would be Netflix, Hulu, ESPN 3, roku, etc. It's the tv that chord cutters use.

The current AAC contract requires so many games of football and basketball to be shown on linear tv and there are rules about the channel having to reach so many homes by broadcast. The rest may be put on ESPN 3. This is why ESPN sells some of our content to CBS sports. It makes them money and meets the contract requirements for linear tv.

If you happen to be driving and have SiriusXM, they are broadcasting college games also. At least football, I assume they will do BB as well.

Yes they do broadcast select games. I listened to a TU game while I was driving home from out of state a few years back.

Games will probably be moved to ESPN+.....

Not till 2020 and then it is doubtful for football or basketball. ESPN + is a separate over the top entity and has exclusive content not shared with linear ESPN or ESPN 3.

So I noticed on our schedule that a few homes games are not listed for espn3 (that certainly will no be picked up anywhere else). The one I’m going to be out of town for is the yooler game... I was hoping to watch it on my tablet in the hotel.

I'll be surprised if it doesn't end up on ESPN 3, in years past sometimes the schedule doesn't show the game on ESPN 3 until a week or two before the game.
