Seems like news has come out today that basically the entire cabinet staff including the Vice President, Secretary of State, Defense Secretary, and the Chief of Staff knowingly participated in communications through unauthorized government channels (Signal App) that fundamentally violate the espionage act, are open to 3rd parties, and don’t comply with federal standards for classified information.

Add to that the fact that they’re not even competent enough to know who they’re inviting to those channels….

This is a pretty extraordinary level of incompetency at the highest echelons of the government. Go figure.

The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans

U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

So we are going to excuse the clown show because Hillary did something wrong years ago. Two wrongs don't make a right. Iran could figure it out through their intelligence network and find these insecure messages, & warn the houthis. Then it would be money down the drain. I get sick of both sides justifying it with the other sides actions. That just leads both sides continuing their parties present administrations of anything and everything. It was wrong when Hillary did it, and it was wrong when the defense department did it.
 
Both sides have set the bar very low in the handling of classified material. Hard to be outraged at one side and not the other if outrage is where this is going

That's BS. Glad when something gets out with all this carelessness with security. Why don't we just broadcast it to the world, and put it out on X. You do not need to be outraged at one and not the other. Everything doesn't have to be on a scale. Stop the bad security. It's got to start with someone. Why the heck were there even rules in the first place if one party can ignore them, and then it's fair game for the other party to do the same. God you put every action on a balance scale. Can I defend it with the Democrats actions? That system is helping to destroy our government from both sides.

Hard to get outraged when it's your side that's doing it. You were plenty outraged a for several years when it was the Dems.

The real astounding thing is these people not even knowing who the hell they were personally inviting to look at their misused non-classified servers.

Yup….unfortunately that’s a common theme in politics on both sides. Would be nice to see some accountability. People actually losing their jobs for poor performance. I’m not holding my breath

I doubt that Hillary or Biden, or anybody else was releasing imminent military actions that were going to be occurring in the next few hours, on an insecure network/app, to a media person. It's a clown show. Biden, and Hillary should have been held to account, but it wasn't the same actions. And it wasn't the same actions when Trump was showing off classified military paperwork on Iran to his friends at Mar a Lago to brag. This crap has got to stop.

Not specifically Hillary or Biden but less than six months ago a US intelligence operative did in fact release military plans of an imminent attack. You are correct….this crap has to stop

She was reassigned to a different department in teaching, her access to classified materials was reduced, and she was put back under investigation for loyalties to Iran. That is punishment and action happening. There won't be anything like that happening with Trump, Hegseth, etc. And that wasn't an imminent attack. It was future plans for an attack, if and when it was necessary. This was an imminent attack which occurred two hours later.

And she was probably acting against the law, intentionally. This is the highest level of government acting the way they always act. This is normalizing these actions of using that insecure app, and sharing it with a journalist. Where as they were catching her breaking the espionage act by giving it to Iran and taking actions with her that would not allow it to happen again. Not even close to the same thing.

I was merely speaking toward your comment regarding leaking plans of an imminent milary attack. As far as the leaker, she never should have been given access to those plans and should have been criminally prosecuted for intentionally leaking the same. I’m all for holding whoever made the decision to discuss the Yemen plans accountable. Nothing will change until we start firing and prosecuting people who are careless or in the case of Israel-Iran intentionally leaking the material

As far as I know, those reinvestigations of her loyalties aren't through. So we will see. But yes she should be in jail. There's not a doubt in my mind. You don't do that accidentally.

As far as who made the decision, I'm pretty certain it was Hegseth, who will never be punished. In past administrations, that offense would have possibly meant your job.(Kennedy-Bush Jr)
 
This would absolutely be hilarious if it didn't make our government look so inept & amateur. Jon Stewart is talking about his favorite quote from the group chat on Signal. Our inept, oblivious, and completely unqualified Secretary of Defense says in the middle of the chat 'we are currently clean on opsec.' SMH
