Jones has been playing poorly, no need for him in this gsme.
I am sure he will have his chance again at some point.
He’s playing at a 1st team level right now.If Rachal doesn’t get second team all AAC this year I will be disappointed.
Hate the way he’s playing or lack there of, not the person.Glad to see Frank put Igbanu and Rashal back in game. Our two best players Yes I know there are Igbanu haters on here but I saw him in AAC last year.
He wasn't even on the bench tonight. Hope he hasn't pulled a "Zeke."
Our bench is not that deep. We need him to work out of his slump.
He only played like 10 minutes in the game against Houston. And who would you play him over right now? And maybe he has an academic issue which he is trying to stay on top of. Right now Frank has found a good rotation of guys that he is sticking to unless we get some foul trouble. I just don't see a ton of minutes for Jones over guys like Korita, Joiner, Horne, or Rachal (or even Jackson and Hill) at this point. And maybe Jones was the guy Haith was calling out about being selfish in the Cincy game. He does take a lot of quick shots that seem to be out of the flow of the offense.Bruce said during pregame that he was not on the road trip for undisclosed reasons.
The difference between good players and great players is consistency. I think Jones is a good player who has a lot of different skills that TU could benefit from. You can see what Haith saw in him...but his inconsistency and lack of focus at times is a real detriment to a team that cannot afford to have all pieces doing their part.Regarding Jones... we essentially wasted a scholarship spot on him last season. He wasn't worth Jeffries not having another piece trying to help get to the post season.

Maybe the stats say that...but I'm willing to bet 90% of the people who follow TU basketball and post on this board would want Korita on the floor over Jones in almost any situation.Jones' stats are still better at this point in almost every advanced metric than Korita's and for half the season he was our only shooter. I'm definitely not ready to give up on him yet.

I'd take Senior year Tim Peete or Senior year Scottie Haralson over either of them.Maybe the stats say that...but I'm willing to bet 90% of the people who follow TU basketball and post on this board would want Korita on the floor over Jones in almost any situation.
Do you need a hug?
Korita plays hard and plays decent defense. Jones is easy to miss and seems to give up if he’s not feeling it.
Yes he does, and has fought for and ended up with some very competitiveDo you need a hug?

That wasn't one of the options. And yeah, this team could use a Scottie Haralson or a Cory Henderson type of shooter.I'd take Senior year Tim Peete or Senior year Scottie Haralson over either of them.
Comparing stats is fair. Maybe Jones isn't in the same space as Korita mentally or not on the same page as Haith like Korita may be. Everyone talks about intangibles and that column, for me, gives Korita the edge right now.I don't dislike either of them as players. My point was really that they basically have played at the same level so far (neither great), and since I view Korita as serviceable, I'm not going to write off Jones either.
Absolutely. There’s tons of stuff that happens on the court that doesn’t end up in the stat sheet. Korita does a ton of those things. Maybe player A got a steal because Korita caused a bad pass. Maybe player B got a rebound because Korita kept a ball alive or blocked out an opponent. That’s why you can’t look at a post game stat sheet without seeing a game and say “I know why we won/lost”. I think Jones has the ability to be a big contributor and he has a good looking shot, but when that shot is not falling I don’t see him doing the little things it takes to win.Comparing stats is fair. On Gendron, I am still really freaking confused as to why he is not eligible. He didn't play basketball at OSU...he wasn't on scholarship either as far as I know. My coworker's son and Ryan were in the same class and played baseball together at Bishop Kelley. I'm trying to find out through him but he hasn't gotten much. Both would be sitting if KES , Haywood, and Gendron were eligible.
