EC Game thread

I was referring to Wojcik.
He may be misunderstood and complicated but that doesn't change the fact he's an ahole. The stuff he said about TU, Tulsa, and things he said to individuals in the community were not misunderstood nor complicated.

You aren’t wrong. He also did some good things for players, stayed out of trouble, graduated players (that he didn’t run off), and developed more NBA level players than we had the entire run in the 90’s. The program was dead when he came and he made it not suck. So that’s why I say it’s complcated.

Everyone deserves a second chance. He’s getting his and from the little I can tell, he’s handling this with some humility. Don’t ever bring him back here, but let’s not stand in his way either.

Screw Doug. He was an ahole to everyone at the tu basketball offices. He made us not suck sure, but his attitude that we should be praising him for that is ridiculous. I don’t care about his career at all at this point. Him making nba talent didn’t mean anything because he couldn’t coach his way out of a wet paper bag.

That’s fine. But it’s kind of hard to go through life with that attitude towards people. I’ve had plenty of people do me wrong, and I’ll admit there are a couple I don’t care to be around again (or think should be disbarred), but I don’t think you have to carry on vitriol for the man just because they talked about him during the our tv broadcast. Gaudio says stupid things, but so do all these other guys.

I’m obviously all about making fun of people or things (did you know MartonAstin wears bells?), but you have to leave that stuff at the door sometimes. The man wants to coach again and probably will be looking for a job in a few days. No reason to get mad because someone tried to throw him a bone.

Wojick looks really burned out and sad on the bench. But, I can't feel sorry for him. I do feel sorry for his wife and kids (although one of them is going to be a star apparently).

His wife was really nice the times I met them. I just don’t really take kindly to him putting down our program and school repeatedly. He’s got plenty of money..don’t feel sorry for the guy.

You shouldn’t have to feel sorry for him, either. I just don’t get the hate. We divorced him. We don’t need to hope he gets urine in his Cheerios for life. And I’ll admit, 6,000 of my 30,000 posts are probably making fun of him. And I think it’s fine to kid. But don’t hate. We’re better than that.

I don’t care if Doug was a dickwad (he was) or a good coach (he wasn’t) or has turned over a new leaf (don’t know, don’t care), I just know that in the “part of the problem or part of the solution” world, he was part of the problem. He used mediocre coaching and his dickwaddedness to push for a ridiculous contract that locked us in well after it became clear that he’d never turn things around and those extra years between our success and getting a real coach have really hurt us. I don’t care if he goes off and gets happy, but I’m not going to suddenly pretend he was good for our program. He wasn’t, and almost anyone else would have been as good or better. Just because a dried turd don’t stink doesn’t turn it into a candy bar.

I don't give a rat's behind about the guy.

It's our fault we kept him around. Glad he is gone.
