I ran across a little dunk contest between Chris Barnes and DaQuan Jeffries. We have some athletic players.

@Bill Lowery---Barnes is obviously an athlete....I wonder what his abilities are? His handle
and shooting abilities? Given his athleticism, you would assume a good defender....Maybe
a quicker, faster Wheeler? I can't pick up much from the video snippets.......

Thanks....

I spoke with a guy who is close to the program and Barnes was the first player he mentioned. Said he was legit and had a chance to be a special player for us.

I’ve heard lots of good things about Barnes overall abilities—getting to the basket and defense. Hearing that Moore might be our best shooter. Although it might take till the conference season due to them sitting out last year, I think they both are going to surprise a lot of people—and they have 3 years.

New starting 5 prediction
Tap, Moore, Jeffries, Horne, Igbanu

The 2 spot is the one that is uncertain due to fans not being fully informed, players making a progression from last year, and/or new players being better than expected. Every other position seems nailed down. I can easily see starting out or a little later in the season that our starter there could be any one of these players: Scott, Moore, Joiner, Barnes, or even Korita.

I would be surprised (not shocked) if Moore starts ahead of Scott. Think Haith values experience and rewards Scott with the start. At least early on.

We all know also that who starts isn’t as important as who finishes. I wouldn’t care if our starting lineup in game one was Joiner, Barnes, Korita, Falokun, and Hewitt but by the end of the game I would like for the most minutes to have gone to the five out of the thirteen players that are playing the best.

Agree, although we may see Tap with Joiner, or Barnes as well....I hope Joiner has
matured into a more effective point, so that he can give Tap some rest....That, and
effective backup for Igbanu are maybe the two positions I am most curious about....

Maybe not 1st game but I still am going with Moore as the 2 guard. Nice size lineup for help defense and I have heard Moore may be the best shooter on the team. However, never know until game competition.

And nice size for the match-up zone, if we will still use it as much since coach Henderson left...
Both Scott and Moore have nice skill sets.....Moore possibly a little quicker, and Scott with
those intangibles and the ability to score in so many ways.....

If Falokun or Hewitt can't back up Igbanu to Haith's satisfaction and with the consistency he wants yet, I think he might just go with a smaller lineup some of the time. Like Tap, Barnes/Joiner, Moore, Jeffries, Horne.

Horne isn’t a 5. Our small ball lineup would have igbanu at 5
