Look for 106 . There should be some seats there or at least we usually make some of those available. Glad to see your team doing well as it helps us both.

Parking will be a mess. If you have an Uber account, I'd recommend that. If not, Prosperity Bank to the south along Harvard may have a shuttle. If not, it's not a bad walk and the parking will be easy.

Thanks for the help. Is there a pregame saloon w decent eats anyone recommends ?

My picks closest to campus would be Kilkenneys or The Pint, or Andolinis for pizza and great beer. Those are on 15th.

Just a little further away on Brookside (Peoria Ave) I'd do the Brook for pregame. Leon's is also a sports bar but I haven't been there since renovations.

Kilkenny's is awesome. I love the paddy melt and the black velveteen (Guinness + Apple Cider)

You also just go closer to the noon hour and do delicious Irish brunch there. Mmm, boxty.

That's an early evening (5pm) game on a Sunday. The bar scene might be a little lacking at that time. Because of the food, Kilkenny's probably the best, closest option.

The Cherry Street places mentioned above are good ones.

If you stay downtown, there are some good options. McNellie's is a really popular downtown bar and there's a bunch of options nearby.

If you stay out east, there aren't as many good options and you'll be driving a lot.

If you want something totally random for you, we have a Rastafarian themed Philly cheesesteak place called Phat Philly's. It's probably sad in comparison to what you have, but a lot of our bar crowd goes there after the bars close at 2 am. It stays open until 4.

There's a place RIGHT across the street from the arena. Ed's Hurricane Lounge. Everyone there is a pure delight! Not to mention the clean air they offer.

Nah, but I actually do get along with the regulars there. I stopped in there a few Tuesdays ago about noon and was yappin' it up with 'em.

Since our colors are Cherry & White, Im going to have to hit the spots on Cherry St. Looking forward to a great game. Thanks again

ps Joe Lunardi is closely associated w St Joe's University, a big city of Philadelphia rival with us. We frequently lament his consistent ways of discounting Temple accomplishments and finding excuses to bump us from the tournament or predict the absolute worst seed. Wouldn't be the least surprised if his bias would be extended to the American. He's very frustrated w the St Joe Hawks...

And you should
blush.r191677.gif
....You were kicking our butts before your stud got hurt....
We are a cohesive, reasonably talented team, but not a lot of up front
power......Our rotation are all Jr.s that have played together for three years...

Welcome to our town.....When we joined the AAC, I always figured Temple
would be one of the cornerstone programs....I have not been disappointed..
I hope we end up being one as well.....This can turn out to be one Helluva
BB conf., and I am looking forward to all of the nail-biting games.....

You will be very pleasently surprised by one thing.....You can get almost
anywhere in 'Tulsey Town' (old timey) in 20-25 minutes......

When you are on the South side of the arena, (11th st.), you are on
historic "Route 66".....

We hope you enjoy everything except the outcome of the ball game

Yes, Joe is a Joe's alum.

TX

and St Joe's beat us this year. They are terrible and its their best win. A little intel on us. We didn't have two transfers before that game, Jesse Morgan and Devin Coleman. Morgan is starting as our 2 Guard. He was horrendous vs Tulsa, 1-17 w an 0-13 from the arc and our PG was mostly hurt. One of the local writers figured Temple is 13-0 when we have had our 5 available starters for the entire game. Barring anything unforeseen vs ECU we should have a full complement when we arrive

Temple fans are figuring we need to win at least 1 of 2 @ you and SMU to stay in the tourney race so we are expecting a dogfight.

Across the board, I think our fans are very pleased to be in this conference. We've been all over the place the last 10 years

Yes please choose the SMU game if you need to win ONE.

If you like a watering hole with lots of second hand smoke, try the Buccaneer Bar on 11th and Harvard...a short walk from the Reynolds Center. They are supposedly Tulsa's oldest bar...a classic dive.

If you're Downtown, you should have a beer and a shot at Orpha's. Think of Mickey Rourke in "Barfly." That kind of place.

I like a good dive bar but I got that Orpha's beat. Sometimes I pregame for Temple games at THE bar that inspired Charles Bukowski to write Barfly....the 17th Street Spot a few miles from Temple's campus. He lived in Philly a couple years dodging the draft. Hope Im not too drunk to remember the game....Gonna be fun

Orpha's is just too sketchy. I don't want you getting shanked.

A safer dive bar is Cellar Dweller downtown. It's got a hipster crowd but makes up for it by being just weird enough.

Buc is bunk.

Yea, I wouldn't send anyone to Orpha's.

Downtown, Brady District at Brady and Main has several options the north, south, and east.
Blue Dome district has plenty of places too.

Parking is not an issue. You might be 5-6 blocks away for free parking. Park south of campus and you will do just fine.

There isn't a bar district near campus - there is a dive bar called "Buckaneer" that is fine for a few pregame pints. Otherwise, Blue Dome/Brady District if you are staying downtown, Cherry Street or Brookside a bit further south. Lyft/Uber to the arena from any of those places is probably a $15 ride (waaay cheaper than a DUI).

Tons of good museums (native art and artifacts, contemporary, rennssaincd, Woody Guthrie, firearms, Will Rogers, etc.), center of the universe (quick fun stop), making fun of fundamentalists out at ORU, great hiking at Turkey Mountain, redbud, or Oxley (all basically in town). Have a great trip. Grab some BBQ from BurnCo.

Go to the forums over at TulsaNow.org and ask those hippies for things to do, you'll get instant advice.

Other than the loss, hope you have fun. :p

Doug Wojcik would probably get into a fight at Orpha's.

It would be interesting to see what would happen when he brought up the "junk defense." I hope they have Beach Boys on that jukebox.

Did Kilkenny's and the Buccaneer. Fish and Chips was only slightly better than Temple's performance. $10 for two shots of crown and a couple PBR's....call me a fan of the Buc and they told me to leave the car and come back for a free one..

Nice arena. Jealous of your scoreboard and replay. Disappointed couldn't get a brewski, we sell beer at our facility, so come by some time.

That was an awful game by Temple but I will give your team credit for shutting us down in the 2nd H. First H as well. I think we will see each other again in Hartford.

Good luck the rest of the way. Rep the American regardless...

Get the Reuben at Kilk. Chicken sandwich is decent. Fish and chips is sadly better than others around town. Sourcing?

Have a safe trip back and stay warm tonight.
