Did I get to witness our worst defensive performance of the year in person?
We know about our shooting problems so I'm never surprised there. But the defense and rebounding...effort was lacking last night. Everyone looked gassed for some reason, especially Smith.
Lot of complaining in the stands about the regression of this senior class since Haith arrived and especially this year.
Beer sales doesn't cure attendance ills, if you didn't notice. Even with a decent product on the floor. Environment was nothing like football. Reminded me of Robson Fieldhouse in Ponca but not that fancy. ROTC had an infinite supply of Tshirts and threw them out ALL FIRST HALF. During game action. And they didn't understand the logistics of bringing the flag onto and off of the court for the anthem--she started singing before it was out there in place and the announcer began TU starting lineup announcement while it was still out there--our players were just standing in line, like they do until it's off the floor. That was really my only WHAT THE? moment. But it was fine. Not awful traffic to get there at night and easy to find free parking about as far as we used to walk at TU. I won't make an effort to go back if it's not Tulsa.
